Things were tense with Kira after our blow up, but that didn't really matter to me.
Every time Ridge comes near me, he winks. Is that, like, a secret code? Or is he trying to tell me something? Maybe he doesn't know that I'm with Lukas.
Ridge walked by again and winked. I took a breath and called out, "Ridge." He immediately stopped to listen. "What's up?" he asked and jammed his hands in his pocket. "Why do you wink every time you see me?" I asked, looking at him. His cheeks turned a rosy pink and smiled.
"Well...," he trailed. I crossed my arms and glared. "Well...?" I said in a sharp tone. "I....uh....," he stuttered.
"Ridge!" a voice called out. "Gotta go," he said and ran towards the blurry figure in the distance.
I cursed under my breath.
"What's up, Tree Hugger?" Lukas asked. "Just dealing with Mr. Douche Pants," I said and turned to face him. "Who might that be?" he asked and started to laugh. "Take a guess," I said and smirked. "Hmmm... maybe, Ridge?" he said, laughing. I nodded and chuckled. "Mr. Douche Pants...," Lukas repeated.
He put his arm around me and pulled me close to him, giving me a one-armed hug. I enjoyed his company.
"So, what did Mr. Douche Pants do?" he asked. We began walking, his arm still around me.
"Well... I was trying to get him to tell me something. He wouldn't tell me, so now I'm pissed off at him."
"Ah...," Lukas trailed.
"Hey! Sammi!" a voice called out.
Lukas and I spun around to see Ridge.
Oh shit.
"Uh, um, hi?" I said.
Ridge seemed to be completely okay that a guy was with me and hugging me.
"Hey," he said, acknowledging both of us.
"Whatcha up to, man?" Lukas asked.
"Looking for you guys. I've got a few questions," he said.
"What about? " I asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Guess you'll just have to find out," Ridge said.
"Okay, let's find somewhere to talk," I said, giving in.
