A Bit Of Truth

*Joker POV*

Rayla and I keep running through the hallways, trying to get to the breaker room, and killing monsters on the way.

I can still remember Rayla's arms around me. I never felt so safe in my life. I can feel my cheeks burning just thinking of her.

I shake my head. "Stay focus."

I stop in my tracks for a minute.

"Joker, what's wrong?"

Rayla walks towards me.

I take out the map I took, made a quick scan of it and knew where to go.

I look to my left to find a hallway. "This way!"

Rayla and I run through the hallway and found a door that says "BREAKER ROOM".

As soon as I grab the door.

"AAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!"

Rayla and I turn around at the scream. We both grab our guns and ready them.

A girl in a white coat runs and sees us. She's covered in blood and cuts. She has tears in her eyes.

"Please... please you gotta help me.. please they'll-"

A large clawed hand grabs her and crushes her. She spits out blood. Her hand is reaching out to us.

"Please... I don't-"

The hand pulls her out of sight.

"No!"

Rayla starts to run but I grab her arm.

Rayla looks back at me. "What are you doing? We gotta help her!"

I shake my head. "It's already too late."

"But-"

I turn her towards me and put my hands on her shoulders. "Listen. It's better we try to survive than get ourselves killed. Sure it's sad that that lady died, but what could we've done?"

I can see in her eyes that she's in shock.

"Right now, we need to focus on getting the lights on. You with me?"

Rayla close her eyes and takes a deep breath. She opens her eyes and smiles.

"Alright" Rayla said. "Let's do this!"

I nod my head and grab the door nob.

We both enter the breaker room, it's dark in the room but I can see just a little bit.

"Here we go" Rayla said. Rayla runs towards a lever on the wall.

Rayla grabs the lever and lifts it, but nothing happens. "What?"
