I'm... alive.

I look at my surroundings. I'm still in the underground lab.

"What... where?"

I put my hand on my neck, it's fine.

I look at my hand, it's normal. I didn't turn.

I think of one person. Someone who should be here. "Charlie."

I slowly stand up, a couple of strands of hair get in my face. I look over and spot my gun.

I stumbled over to pick it up. I put my gun in my holster, and make my way out the hallway.

"Charlie... where did you go?"

I hear hissing all around, and the smell of blood reeks.

A monster dog stops me in my track. I grab my gun and aim.

The dog jumps into the air, I fire at its heart. A little bit of its blood getting on my face.

I walk a little forward and noticed a little trail of blood on the floor.

"Charlie? You went this way, did you?"

I kept walking, still stumbling on my way, to find Charlie.

I hear gun shots in the distance. "Charlie?"

I turned a corner and see Charlie being cornered by monster dogs, bloody claw marks on her arm.

"Stay back, you sons of bitches" Charlie yelled.

The dogs snarl at Charlie.

I take my revolver out and fire at the dogs.

I walk towards Charlie, with my hand out. "Are you okay?"

Charlie looks up at me, with wide eyes. "What? How the fuck-?"

"What" I ask. "You look like you've seen a ghost."

Charlie slowly stand up. "Oh boy."

"How are you alive" she ask. "I saw that thing kill you. It snapped your neck. You didn't get back up. Just, how?!"

I look at Charlie, trying to think of what to say.

"It's" I said, looking away. "It's complicated. I don't know how to explain it."

"Well, you better starts explaining! Because I'm feel like I'm going fucking insane!"
