The War Faerie

chapter seven

Charlotte's POV

When I woke up it was pitch black. I heard voices, one voice, Luna's voice. She was talking to me.

"Hey Charlotte, I hope you can hear me but I'm so worried. Max is asking about you a lot! I can't keep lying to her anymore! Please come

I really wanted to tell her that I was ok, and she didn't have to worry! She's already lost so much I didn't want her to lose me too. So, I was determined to wake up, for her.

Over the past few days, I had spent working on waking up, for Luna. I could hear everything that was going on in the room I was in which I think was the Sickbay.

But after a few days or maybe weeks I was in there I woke up.

"CHARLOTTE YOU'RE AWAKE I'LL GO GET THE HEALERS! HEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRSSSSS!" Luna screamed at the top of her voice, which I'm pretty sure wasn't good for me because my ears really hurt when she screamed.

"Hey Luna, its ok. I'm fine."

"Charlotte ssshhhhh its ok. The Healers will be any second now. Just chill ok."

There was no way of changing her mind now and as she predicted the Healers came a second later. They started checking the monitors monitoring my health and they told me I was ok and that I had to do physical therapy and spend some time in a wheelchair because Liadan hit me in the "coma" I don't know what to call it!

I'm so mad at what happened but the worst thing is that I don't know why Liadan chose me to put in her coma. I mean there are hundreds of faeries in Canada.

I need to tell Luna about this.

Luna's POV

Today's Charlotte's first day at school since the "incident" and I'm obviously worried. I didn't sleep last night.

I mean what if it happens again! What if Liadan takes her under her control again and what if this time Charlotte does something that she regrets?

I'm at my locker and taking out my textbooks when Charlotte comes. "Hey, umm I need to tell you something important." Charlotte told me with her head hanging low and that made me feel worried. "What is it? Is everything ok?" I said panicked. "No, it's nothing serious, well technically it is a bit serious, it's about Liadan. I was looking her up and it turns out that she was the reason the war started. But also, when she trapped me in my mind I transformed and started throwing fire balls at her but every time I missed because she stayed teleporting. The last time that she teleported she came next to me and slipped this note in my pocket."

Charlotte handed me a note that had written on the date of her birthday this year.

"Liadan spoke to me in my mind, and she told me that the day I was born was the day she started the umm war and that she wanted to start a new war, she didn't tell me the date, but I think the second war is going to start on my birthday but this year!" Charlotte said sadly but also astonished by the information that she had just discovered. But me, well me on the other hand, I wasn't that thrilled about the information that she had just discovered. If another war was coming, then that meant every faerie in Ashcroft had to train hard so they can fight, even the ones in school! My parents died in the first war when I was still in my mum's tummy, when they found my mother's body, they saw her tummy was very big, so the doctors did a sonogram and found me still alive in her womb. The doctors did her an operation and I was born and raised in foster care. I met Charlotte in the foster care a year ago and we've been friends ever since. I changed her after two months. But then her grandparents adopted her, and it's been hard keeping it a secret from them. And now three months ago, when me and Charlotte got accepted into this school, Mr. Byers adopted me. I'm scared that if Charlotte and I train for the war, she of all people would be targeted by Liadan, and she can easily trap Charlotte in her own mind. Charlotte is the only faerie in Ashcroft who can control all four elements, so she's the strongest even though she's not trained like the Head of Faeries, Mrs. Aelia Greene, Charlotte's way better. She'll be Liadan's target.
