Nick's POV

(4:07 PM Monday)

"I'll see you tomorrow then?" Eddie said as I parked in front of Kourtney Kardashian's house, getting out. I was quite nervous to even walk in, but I knew I had to, either way. I nodded at Eddie and he made his way back to his Audie.

I was about to walk in when Eddie drove off, but a gleaming back Mercedes Benz Maybach parked right next to mine. I couldn't tell who was in the car until the window rolled down.

"Hey, Jonas, what're you doing here?" Kylie said as the window rolled down all the way. I sighed a breath of relief; At least someone knew who you were. "Hey, Kylie," I said. We were pretty fond of each other, I met her twice. "How're you?"

Kylie chuckled and took off her glasses. "Well, I'm doing good, still wondering what you're doing here," she said, making me arch an eyebrow. "Mom is having a dinner with the family, saying something about a celebration. I came late, but i guess I'm not the only one," she said, looking me up and down. "Are you here for the party?"

"No," I said, rather too quickly. I tried to look innocent. "I wasn't invited," I quickly added, hoping she didn't catch the lie in my tone. Did she know I was with Kendall?

"It's not every day a Jonas Brother shows up in front of your sister's house. I need to talk to you about a few things, if you're free; wanna go to dinner some time?" She asked, making my heart skip an unusual beat. Where was this going?

After a minute I said, "Alright, only if we're talking business. I'm busy tonight, so I'll say Wednesday night?"

Kylie shrugged, "Sounds good. Now tell me what you're doing here."

I didn't know what to tell her; Do I lie? I could always say I was dropping something off, but that would be suspicious, because then Kendall would be in there, introducing me as her boyfriend, making it pretty obvious to Kylie that we're both dating, and then itd be really awkward as to why I lied to her now.

"Earth to Nick??"

"What? Oh—" I turned back to her. "I'm here to uhm— pick up your sister, actually. We have an arranged afternoon tonight, and so... yeah," I finished somewhat lamely.

"My sister?" Kylie said, sort of... stating? "Wow, Jonas, nice play, OK. Dyou have my socials?" She asks. I thought for a minute and shook my head. "I'll just give you my number, and you'll text me on Wednesday," she said, almost bored. I nodded, hesitantly as I fiddled with my fingers, hoping Kendall would come outside so this awkward conversation would be over.

She rumbled through her bag and handed me a card. I frowned, taking it. "What's this? You just gave me a Kylie's Cosmetics card, I don't need a lip makeover," I said, hoping I wasn't too offending. Kylie raised her eyebrows at me. "That's the only way I can give you my phone number, dumbass. Make sure you don't drop it or lose it somewhere because if people find that... My phone's no good."

I chuckled, pocketing the card. "Alright, I'll... keep this safe."

"That does not look like a safe place."

I groaned and took out the card along with my wallet.

She was staring at me, so I did an indication of putting the card in my wallet where I kept my black card and other important name cards. "There. Happy?"

Kylie grinned. "Super."

I chuckled and turned to walk towards the house.

"You're not gonna move your car?" Kylie called out, making me turn to my car. "Oh, no, I'm just gonna— we're leaving now, so... I'm not staying too long, I've got other stuff—"

"Yeah, alright, you better move then," Kylie said, smirking as she put on her glasses. She drove in and parked at the side of the house, leaving me with a priceless, incredulous look on my face.

I couldn't help chuckle to myself as I walked up the front door, knocking. The door opened and a man with clear crystal eyes and a bearded face poked his head out. He widened the door when he saw me, "Hey, man, I was expecting you," he said, making me automatically stick my hand out as he leaned on the door.

"Hey, I'm Nick—"

"Yeah, I know," the guy said, not too pleasantly. "I'm Scott, you might've heard of me if youév seen the show, but I'm betting that you don't so... Yeah, I was Kourtney's—"

"Yeah, yeah, I get it," I told him, knowing that it was going to be awkward for him to say that. "I'm— I'm familiar with you, Scott, I've seen some clips."

Scott grinned, "Good for you, I hope you weren't horrified of the things they do, but... Yeah, they do what they do. Please, come in—" he said, moving aside, realizing that he hadn't made a gesture to invite me in yet.

"Oh, no!" I said, quickly. Her mother was what I was most terrified of. "I think I can just have Kendall come out here—"

"Oh, Kendall's gone," Scott said, making me freeze.

"What...?"

"She's gone," he repeated, throwing his hands in the air in an indication of Kendall disappearing. "Not with some random guy," he added quickly with a laugh as he saw my face. "She went with Khloe to pick up True. You know, Khloe's daughter, True. You can come in for a glass of water or something, since you came all the way over here—"

I politely shook my head in decline. "Thanks but I really cannot stay for long. It was a pleasure, Scott," I say, sticking out my hand for a goodbye shake. He patted me on the shoulder and took my hand, "it was my pleasure to finally meet you."

I smiled and turned around slowly, "She said she's at her place?" I asked Scott one last time. Scott pressed his lips into a smile and nodded firmly. "I'll see you around, Nick. Drive safe, looking forward to seeing you again really soon!" He added with a wink. I couldn't help but laugh.

I nodded, "Thanks, cannot wait to meet all of you."

I think I could wait actually, I thought to myself as I heard the door close. Those icy crystals did not look too warm, but Scott made me feel better about meeting the rest of the family.

Was I ready for it? Absolutely not.

I edited the interaction with Nick and Kylie because I just thought you know it'd be less confusing 😄
