Charcoal Kisses

Death's cool breath blows across the land,

Roses in the pockets of the eternal sleeping,

Relief given by God's kind hand,

A lonely mother who now is weeping,

Charcoal kisses along one's nape,

Reveals a life Lord Death will soon take,

Ashes fill the sky with sorrow,

More fires will burn on the morrow.

Okay. I know people who post poetry don't make notes but I feel the need to. This is a piece I wrote for a poetry assignment for school and I want to see who can guess the topic. If you think you know it, comment the answer.
