Lewis went home after school to see his mother looking at him sternly. He was wondering why his mother was looking at him like that. He hasn't gotten bad grades or anything like that. Sure,he drinks and smokes but that's a coping mechanism.
"Mum. Why are you looking at me like that?",he asked,getting more and more worried.
"Lewis. Sit here. I need to speak to you.",his mother replied in a monotone voice,pulling a seat. "You got grade 5s in your mocks this year. Where did it go wrong?"
"I didn't understand most of it.",he said back. "I don't owe you all nines when I'm a year 10 with anger issues and I struggle with work. I told you mum. I have dyslexia."
"Quit this dyslexia bullshit. You don't have anything wrong with you. You are just lazy. Your brother's not normal and he got straight nines in Year 10. Goddamnit Lewis. Grow up will you?"
"Mum. I told you several times. Stop ignoring me!",he shouted back.
"You don't have dyslexia. I don't care about it, Lewis. Go to your room.",his mother screamed,making him wince. Lewis stormed up to his room and got out his phone.
