chapter 10

mark dropped haechan off at taeyong's house before driving to his other best friend's house. johnny. mark smiled at the event that just happened before driving to his best friend's house. haechan left a small kiss on mark's cheek. it was a sign of saying thank you for taking care of the omega last night. mark smiled before turning his attention back to the road before thinking.

'aish ssibal mark lee focus. what the fucking hell is haechan doing to my head.' and little did he know, he was in front of johnny's house already. he got out of the car and walked towards the door. he knocked on it, and he could hear a distant voice. 

"coming! johnny suh clean up the mess you made in the bathroom. oh hi mark! you are here to talk to johnny right?" mark nodded at the question, johnny's boyfriend, ten shot him a smile. johnny then came out to join ten. 

"ten honey who is i- MARK MY BROOOOO" mark winced at the volume his alpha best friend was talking at. johnny welcomed mark into his house and ten gave him a cup of water which he kindly refused because he was going to go soon. 

"so why did you come to my house? love problems? best friend problems? sex problems? brother problems? school problems?" johnny shot mark a few questions. and before mark could answer, johnny continued. 

"based on your expression now, its the first one right." mark just widened his eyes while nodding. he then asked. 

"hyung, how do you know if you are in love?"

johnny smiled before asking some questions.

mark walked into his dorm, thinking about those 4 questions that  johnny asked him. haechan and taeyong were sitting there on the couch. jaehyun called mark.

"yah come here." mark sat next to haechan while looking at jaehyun. 

"mark me and taeyong are getting married and we want you to be my best man." mark smiled, showing a hint of excitement. mark nodded. jaehyun then said.

"that's all, you can bring haechan up and talk to him." mark said before standing up. haechan stood up too while softly holding mark's hand in his. mark then softly pulled haechan upstairs. both of the boys arrived in the room. haechan threw himself on mark's soft mattress and let out a small noise of happiness. mark then got the answer to johnny's first question. 

"mark, do you just feel like whatever he does, whatever sound he makes, whatever he says, you just feel like he is too cute for you to handle? and you want to hear it again and again?" 

'yes.' mark thought. haechan then softly said. 

"hyung can you come and join me?" mark nodded. he walked towards the omega and sat next to him. 

"hyung lets get to know more about each other. i'm haechan, as you know my real name is donghyuck, i like-" mark smiled while listening to the omega talking about himself. 

"do you just listen to him, no matter how long he is going to talk?" 

'yes.' mark softly looked at haechan while the omega was talking.

"and yeah. that's all about me. how about you hyung?" mark chuckled before sitting up. 

"okay. i am mark as you know. my real name is lee min-hyung. you don't need to call me 'hyung' just call me mark. i dont really have any interesting to share." haechan looked too cute for mark to handle. haechan was looking up at mark with big doe eyes. 

"do you just think he is too precious?" 

'yes'

then haechan's phone rang. mark saw a peek of the caller id. it was a senior, his friend lucas. even though lucas had a boyfriend, mark is a protective alpha. mark softly grabbed haechan's phone and accepted it. he then placed his hand on haechan's mouth, preventing the omega in complaining.

"lucas-ah haechan is not available right now, he is with mark so go and find jungwoo you dumbo." before letting the other alpha on the line to answer, he ended the call. he removed his hand from haechan's mouth, letting the omega breathe. 

"last question mark. do you feel like when someone else other than you calls him, and the caller is a boy, you feel like he is only yours and yours only and no one can take him away from you? and if all your answers are yes, my man, mark lee you are in love."

'fuck i'm in love with haechan' 

mark turned towards haechan, only to see the omega sulking. mark giggled and asked. 

"chan what happened to you?" the omega ignored the alpha, and stood up and walked towards mark's window to examine the sunset. the night sky was slowly darkening signalling that it was going to rain. suddenly the room went dark. haechan started panicking, he tried to call for the elder alpha.

"mark? mark this isn't funny, mark where are you?" mark was behind haechan, softly giggling at a volume that no one could hear. until that 3 words were heard. 

"hyung i'm scared.."mark could hear haechan's voice was slowly softening but still filled with fear. mark quickly switched on the lights and ran towards the crouching omega on the ground. 

"oh my i'm sorry.. love come here." mark said while softly bringing the omega on the bed. there it was again. that unknown endearment. but again, none of them minded. 

"haechan why are you so scared of the dark? mind telling me?" mark said while pulling the crying omega to his lap. the omega nodded before talking.

"when i was 10, my father was killed by my mother. i was hiding in the dark with taeyong. but after that she started finding us in the house. doors were banged open, vases were broken, duvets were messy. she found taeyong, but not me. taeyong pushed me into the deepest of the closet, making me almost invisible. i could hear my brother screaming. but luckily the police came. she was caught. but when i was 15, she escaped prison. she would always come and find us during the rainy nights. but taeyong would threatened to call the police and bring her back to prison. she hasn't found us after that." mark just ran his hand in haechan's brown hair, allowing haechan to calm down. haechan then fell asleep in mark's arms again. mark then thought.

'he has a fucked up life..'
