AFTER HER morning encounter with Chad Radwell, Abby shortly headed off to work at The Grind, a local coffee shop off campus. She had received the job before enrolling at Wallace, and had been working there for over a year now.

When she received her job and had successfully passed, her first mission was to train a newbie, and his name was Pete Martinez. The two of them became good friends quickly and would often hang out.

When Abby enrolled at Wallace, after coming back from a trip to New York for her first couple of years at University, Pete was ecstatic. Now a year later, the two of them were Juniors at Wallace, and both still worked at The Grind.

Abby was currently making a cup of coffee for a customer as Pete served them, they were slightly busy today, with the line being long, and most of their staff was off for the day.

"Why isn't Charles here? He's on coffee, not me." Abby grumbled, the sound of the machine annoying her. Pete sighed and shrugged, "He's on his honeymoon with his new wife."

Abby let out a annoyed huff, placing on a fake smile as she handed the coffee to the customer, who left without a thanks. She rolled her eyes, glancing around before noticing Chanel in line.

She nudged Pete, who followed her gaze as he rolled his eyes, "Can you take over?" Abby laughed and shook her head, "She's all yours, buddy." Pete jokingly glared at her as Chanel, and her maid Miss Bean, stepped up.

Abby stood next to the coffee machine as she cleaned it, listening closely at Pete and Chanel's conversation. "Uh, welcome to The Grind. What can I get for you?" Pete asked, a fake smile on his face.

Miss Bean was about it order but Chanel stopped her, "You don't want anything do you? I'll have a trenta no foam, five shot half caf, no foam, pumpkin spice latte, with no foam, at 210 degrees." She hurried.

Abby chuckled quietly as Pete looked at Chanel incredulously, "First of all, that's really hot. That's two degrees below boiling." Chanel rolled her eyes, looking at him annoyed.

"I'm sorry, did I enter a wormhole to a universe where this coffeehouse does not possess the technology to heat my favourite autumnal tradition at 210 degrees?" She started to rant, earning stares from everyone.

"I like my pumpkin spice lattes extra hot, so, please comply with my request." She finished, heaving a heavy annoyed sigh. Abby watched amused as Pete kept his calm, "But extra hot is 170 degrees."

"I'm sorry, does your job description entail arguing with your customers, thereby delaying the moment at which they receive the irresistible nutmeggy sweetness of the extra hot, no foam pumpkin spice latte they've been thinking about all day? I mean, god!" She ranted.
