Chapter forty-nine

It's been about two weeks of me living in Ohio again and I love it. It's warmer than London, its sunnier than london, its quieter, it smells fresher, and it's always bright and cheerful.

I'm currently sitting on the porch of my house in one of the rocking chairs with Nolan in my arms and a sweet ice cold lemonade on the table next to me as I rock back and forth. Pepper lays at my feet while I read the book thirteen reasons why.

My phone buzzes and I set down the book before looking at the message.

Kiers🌸: ughhh

Me: wats wrong?

Kiers🌸: nurses @ Children's r so annoying

Me: lol

Kiers🌸: but their sweet I guess So I'll tolerate it

Me: lol

Me: so how r u feeling?

Kiers🌸: I've had better days

Me: I'm sorry :(

Kiers🌸: it's okay

Kiers🌸: Kylea is trying to make me feel better by bringing in shit for me to do

Me: like wat?

Kiers🌸: nailpolish, coloring books, the wii, books, movies, ect

Me: aww

Me: she's being rlly sweet

Kiers🌸: do u kno who else is sweet?

Me: who?

Kiers🌸: my track team and my friends from school. They all made me a video and sent it to me.

Kiers🌸: *video*

I click on the video and Darren pops up.

"Hi I'm Darren Davis, one of Kierstin's best friends. Kierstin is in the hospital because she was recently diagnosed with lung cancer so we are going to sing her a little song. Hit it!" He jumps down off a table and a crowd comes into view.

Ain't it fun by paramore starts playing and the kids start clapping to the music and singing. When the video is over they all shout 'get better soon Kierstin! We love you!'

Kiers🌸: did u watch it?

Me: ha

Me: ya*

Me: it's really cute.

Kiers🌸: i kno! Guess wat I also got

Me: what?

Kiers🌸: flowers from Louis. He asked me what my fav flowers were yesterday and I answered roses & orchids. I was just sent a box of red roses & orchids.

Me: aww

Kiers🌸: yeah

Me: do u like him

Kiers🌸: ....

Kiers🌸: he's... nice

Me: ?

Me: so is that a yes?

Kiers🌸: my nurse is bak

Kiers🌸: brb

I put my phone back on the table next to me and I look down at Nolan who's wide awake and is kicking his little feet.

"You hungry little buddy?" I ask him as I stand up.

He doesn't answer and why would he? I mean he is a baby.

I walk into the house and go to the kitchen before setting him in the little swing that rocks back and forth on its own. I make his bottle and I give it to him before making my own meal.

When I'm done I sit down at the table and start off into space until Nolan starts screaming. I sigh and get up before picking him out of his swing.

I burp him, change him, and lay him down in the bassinet that's in the livingroom before going back outside. I grab my phone and check my messages.

Nine from Harry. Zero from Kierstin.

Hubby: mmaaabbbeeellll

Hubby: how's the baby?

Hubby: r u ignoring me?

Hubby: I didn't do anything I swear

Hubby: I wuv youuu

Hubby: Mabel

Hubby: wanna hear some jokes?

Hubby: u gotta love the jokes okay here it goes

Me: as much as I would like to receive jokes from u

Me: wait I don't actually

Hubby: :(

Me: sorry babes

Me: So what's up?

Hubby: just got off da stage

Me: cool

Hubby: so what's up with u? How's Nolan? I miss u both

Me: I miss u 2. Nolan is taking a nap & I'm out on the porch

Hubby: y

Me: bc its nice out

Me: I mite go c kierstin tho

Me: she started chemotherapy a few days ago. Shes going to b devastated wen she starts losing her hair

Hubby: poor thing

Hubby: plus she has to carry around that oxygen tank

Me: yeah she hates it

Hubby: Louis is getting upset about it

Hubby: he's been bugging management about letting him visit her since he hasn't seen her in about two weeks

Me: aww. He really likes her doesn't he?

Hubby: yeah

Me: maybe he'll see her and they will finally get together

Hubby: u and ur fantasies

Hubby: it's adorable

Me: I have a lot more fantasies

Hubby: like the one u mentioned wen I first asked u to marry me

Hubby: we were @ the bridge and you looked over and said something about going elsa and creating an ice castle on it and then taking over the world by going hitler on everyone

Me: I can't believe u remember that

Hubby: I remember everything about u

Hubby: UR my wife. I love you

Me: I love you too.
