Soon Draco Malfoy heads off to go to the Slytherin table with his friends leaving Claire all alone, just the way she liked it. She straightened her back and walked in like she was taught to, like a pureblood would. After much research she learnt that her Father's father, her grandfather was a Muggle she instantly turned her nose up at that. But the truth was still stuffed at the back of her head, she was a half-blood. No longer a pureblood.
Claire Riddle was not a 'good' girl, she was not your typical girl, she had Black hair that reached her waist, bangs covering her forehead, Deep green eyes and pale skin, it was not paler than Draco's but it was pale, Draco did not know of her origins and she planned to keep it that way, too many complications.
She got O's in all classes - Potions, Charms, Defense against the dark arts, Transfiguration, History of Magic, Astronomy and Herbology, she wasn't the best at Herbology but an 'E' would do. She only wore Black clothes, why?
To her it symbolised her personality, closed off and logical. So the robes with Green accents suited her well. Sometimes people asked her how she and Draco were twins, she replied the same way to all of them. She jinxed them badly. And they never bothered her again.
She doubted her father would've wanted to be called 'Tom Riddle' and he wouldn't want her to take on the Riddle name, she had decided she was Claire Marvolo Gaunt Slytherin. But it didn't have that ring like Claire Riddle did. She was again sure that her father had not named her, he would've chosen a more extravagant name, many muggle girls were called that. Claire inwardly gagged.
She sat at the Slytherin table next to a blonde chirpy girl. After the sorting the Triwizard tournament was announced. All Claire did while the cheers began was fold her fingers together and rest her chin on them her sharp eyes telling everyone on the table if not telling the whole room that she was superior.
She blinked as the cheers fell silent, they all felt silent because of Dumb-Dumbledore. She looked Dumbledore in the eye and tilted her head, trying to figure out what was going on inside his head. His gaze flickered to her and for a small moment Blue connected with Green. Maybe she should learn Legilimency and Occlumency, Dumbledore turned away and explained further when—
The sky started to rain viciously. Claire swiftly took out her wand and smirked softly, she was about to cast or attempt the spell non-verbally when the rain stopped. She turned her head slowly putting her wand gracefully away, there she saw a man with atrocious Blonde hair, an eye-ball for an eye and one fake leg, the famous Auror, Alastor Moody or better known as Mad-eye Moody. He took out a hip-flask and took a greedy looking sip from it. Interesting.
It clicks into her head like a jigsaw puzzle, he's the new defense against the dark arts teacher.
The first year teacher was her fathers accomplice and he was dead.
The second year teacher was a doofus. Gilderoy Lockhart, it was so obvious that he was a fake, she had no idea how people even liked him.
The third year teacher, Remus Lupin, was okay, he taught well but disappeared on full moons, she had figured it out when professor Snape set the essay, again like the filthy mud-blood Granger. He was a werewolf. A Half-breed. Filth.
And maybe this one besides being a blood-traitor will be okay. But there must've been some sort of jinx on this post, since each year the defense teacher changes.
Soon the feast begins.
The blonde chirpy girl with the blue eyes turns to her and says chirpily "Oh! Hey! I'm in your dorm and we haven't had the chance to talk! My name's Reanna, Reanna Troy! Nice to meet you!"
Merlin. The Troys, one of the other blood-traitor families besides the Weasels.
She smiles widely and takes her hand out for Claire to shake. Claire raises her eyebrows and scoffs. Reanna's grin falters but stays intact, Claire raises an eyebrow in amusement. Reanna sticks her tongue out playfully. Suddenly she's reminded of the whole world and goes back into her pureblood mask, kicking herself for showing emotion and interest.
Reanna blinks at Claire as thought she were part of a dish nothing went with. Reanna runs her hand through her own hair making it messy, she grins widely before shaking her head and sticking her tongue out to touch her nose after her failed attempt she shrugs and grabs the fork on her right and takes a bite of her chicken, chewing thoughtfully.
Reanna looks at Claire and takes her wrist up, her wrist is covered in bracelets and fingers covered in rings.
She points to a Purple gem at the centre and a green band and says cheerily "This was a ring, my uncle gave it to me, he said it'd look pretty on my hand" and she goes back to eating her chicken. "Hey you!"
Reanna looks up, her face bright "Yes?" She says smiling "Would you like a ring, I could make one—"
"No. I don't want one of your kiddy bracelets, they look disgusting, maybe even as disgusting as your face, Merlin, why are you even talking to me? You are below me." With that she takes her smooth black wand out, Reanna's tilting her head "You hide—" before she can complete her sentence Claire jinxes her, carefully so none of the teachers see, carefully and non-verbally.
Her face erupts in black boils ready to explode. Nasty ones. No one pays attention, because everyone knows not to mess with Claire 'Malfoy'. She doesn't move. Soon enough all the boils pop and water falls out of them. She doesn't move, looking at me with her blue beady eyes. Once all of them are nothing but skin she says "You needed that didn't you?" she smiles "thank me later!" and she looks back at her chicken and continues eating. Claire jinxes her again and smirks "Don't ever talk to me again. Don't ever look at me again. Know your place, you blood traitor" this time her nose gets a cut that bleeds painfully. Reanna doesn't tear up. Reanna doesn't say anything she just continues eating her chicken.
Soon they all finish, she bids her goodbyes to Draco and his gang and struts to the girls dormitory she shares with 4 others. Merlin, how much she hates sharing. Claire usually ignored her roommates and if they bothered her she'd jinx them. But tonight was going to be strange because Reanna was going to be there. Why was she worrying about someone? She never cared what others thought, she didn't intend to now. Breathing in and out she raised her walls and vowed to herself, she'd never let anyone get close. She'd end up feeling something. And Claire Riddle did not want to feel anything.
