Claire woke up quietly at 6 AM. She waved her wand at her face, making the bags under her eyes disappear. Was that how her father disappeared? She shook her head and brushed her hair silently with her wand as she put on her eye-liner and dull pink lip gloss. She straightened the green and silver neck tie and went out of the room. This was her and Draco's time.
Throughout the years she and Draco were drifting apart but they had decided they would meet every Thursday. Today was also the last day you could put your name into the Goblet of fire.
She walked out and saw Draco standing right outside her dorm smiling radiantly as usual. Draco took her arm and said still smiling "Hey Claire-bear"
"Hey Drake" she said raising her walls up again. She would let her mask fall for only those two seconds when she said those two words. Draco was used to this of course. She had always been this way.
They walked quietly out of the castle, arms linked as they walked to the Black Lake.
Draco picked up a stone like he always did "So what's up?" he said throwing the stone into the lake.
"Nothing much really" Said Claire, her voice dry.
"Hm okay, I was thinking, we don't hang out much anymore, do you want to sit with me, Goyle and Crabbe today?"
"Nah I prefer to be alone"
"Okay" Said Draco throwing a brown stone into the lake. There was an awkward silence for a while until Draco asked "Who do you think will be chosen for this shit of a tournament?"
Claire shrugged.
Draco licked his lips and said "Okay well.."
"Shall we leave?" Says Claire wanting to get to the Room to requirements to practice her non verbal commands for defense.
"Sure" says Draco sighing and throwing the stone he had in his hand. Claire walked gracefully over the rocky landscape in her black heels. She waves goodbye to Draco, and gracefully yet quickly walks up to the seventh floor to a wall with a small arch way.
'I need a place to practice my magic' thinks Claire, examining her nails, her eyes wandering around to see if anybody was there.
The door soon opens up and she walks in, letting the door close before beginning.
With her wand she wordlessly conjures sharp pointed ice crystals. She always started like this, even if it meant hurting herself.
She quickly and wordlessly got the crystals to come for her, as soon and she gave the command they obeyed and came at full speed.
'PROTEGO!' she yelled in her head and waved her wand in the correct movements.
Nothing happened and just like that the crystals pierced her skin, but she didn't let out a sound not even a whimper. She let them cut every inch of her skin. Severs herself right. She should've been able to do it properly.
The crystal shards were stuck in her skin exactly like glass would. The other pieces of crystal were scattered everywhere on the floor of the room. The room was an empty room with nothing but a long table and a safety wizardry kit. She didn't need that.
She waved her wand and all the shards including the ones that were stuck in her skin evaporated. She watched the blood though. She let it drip. She let herself suffer for a while. The red consuming her. The blood, it looked beautiful, it felt like she had been pierced by multiple thorns but all she could see was the beautiful trickle of blood that was coming from a cut.
She sighed inaudibly and twirled her wand and watched the cuts join to make untouched skin again.
She breathed in from her nose and breathed out from her mouth making a small sound.
She again wordlessly summoned crystals but this time she gave them a fire aspect, the crystals were on fire. They would cut and burn her skin if she wasn't able to wordlessly do the 'protego' defense spell.
She made them even faster. She'd have to react fast. It was tough but that was how she liked it.
They rushed at her like sparks. She once again concentrated and this time calmly yelled 'Protego', then a little wisp of silvery-blue came out of the wand. But the soon disappeared. This time as well, as the shards combined with the flames she didn't make a sound. She watched the blood trickle and the sensation of the burns spread. It felt good to know she could take this much pain. She needed to be able to take a lot of pain, as much as she could.
She closed up the wounds and tried again failing each time.
Again. She thought before she checked the time, it was 8:27, she was late for breakfast but she didn't care, she could always find an excuse to tell Draco later.
'PROTEGO!' She yelled at the same time said calmly in her head.
The wisp came out and fully surrounded her in the front. She smirked as the crystals shattered to the floor and became nothing but dust.
She soon grabbed her black satchel which had a small snake keychain, it carried all her books for the day and left the room feeling pride but again she did not let that or the smile work their way up to her face. She would not let it. Instead she strut down the stairs to the Great Hall only to hear—
"HARRY POTTER!?"
