Chapter Fifteen

RILEY MCDONOUGH'S POV:
Seeing Harper grip Connors arm like that made me a little jealous. Shut up Riley, she's dating Toby.. I understand she's dating Toby. But she's so beautiful and nice and ugh.. It's hard not to be jealous to be honest.
A cat came out of the bushes and Harper jumped and tripped and fell to the ground. "Relax.. It's just a cat." Connor said as he helped her back up. "You alright?" I asked her. She looked terrified. "Y-yeah. F-f-fine." She said. She was shaking and even though it was dark, I could tell her eyes were watering. "No you're not. What's wrong?" I asked. "N-nothing. I-I just want t-to get b-back." She said. "Well we're almost there.." I said. I hope she's not crying.. I'm not sure how it would look if Harper showed up with mud and Connors drink in her hair with tears down her face. When we got to the house, Harper let go of Connors arm and rushed into the house. When we got inside, it was dark with candle light. She stopped at the door way, looking into the house. Even me and Connor were surprised.
There were rose petals leading to the couch and candles on the coffee table. The lights were off and Toby was no where in the room. Harper walked in the house and looked around. "What's all this?" She asked. "Toby did it." I said as me and Connor entered the house and closed the door. "For who? Why?" She asked. "For you and because he knows you've been depressed a lot lately." Connor answered. "Where is he?" She asked, looking around. "Not sure." Connor said. "I want him." She said. I heard her say in a lower voice "I need him.." I saw her look around some more. Even with the low light I could tell she was crying. "Toby, where are you?" She called. Then she added in a lower voice as she looked at the floor. "I need you." "I'm here, love." Toby said. She looked up and trend around so quickly it was surprising. Toby was standing right there - how he got there, none of us knew. "Come here.." He said in a voice a little louder than a whisper and opening him arms, welcoming Harper in a hug. She rushed into his arms and burying her face into his chest.
"Well, we'll just leave you two alone.." Connor said then looked at me. I got the message and me and him went upstairs to his room.
"Connor, can I be honest with you about something?" I said, sitting down on his bed. "Of course, is something wrong?" He asked, sitting next to me. "Promise me you won't tell Harper or Toby." I said, looking at him. "Okay, I promise." He said. I sighed. "It hurts." I said. "What does?" He asked. "Seeing Harper in that much pain and then seeing her run into Toby's arms like that and seeing her burry her face into his chest and- I don't know if I'm jealous or what. But it hurts seeing her this happy with him. Don't get me wrong - I love it that's Toby has a girl like Harper. I think they both deserve each other. I guess I just want Harper to be mine." I said. I didn't know what I said, but it all seemed to just come out. Connor just sat there for a minute.
Great, now I sound like a selfish jerk. "Well, you and Harper are good friends, right?" He asked. What does this have to do with anything. "Yeah, why? What does that have to do with anything?" I asked. "Actually, everything. You and her will be - if you're not already, very close. She'll get where she loves spending as much time with you as she does with Toby. I know, I'm terrible at giving advice. But just try to get as close to her as you can without ruining their relationship." He said. "Yeah.." I said.
TOBY MCDONOUGH'S POV:
Connor and Riley had brought Harper to the house. I was so nervous, I couldn't make myself go out there. So I just hid in the kitchen, secretly listening to thee conversation. Then I heard Harper call out for me. I heard her say "I need you". When I heard those I lost all nervousness. I walked out and stood behind her. "I'm here, love." I said. She turned around. "Come here.." I said, opening my arms to welcome her in a hug. She rushed into my arms and buried her face into my chest. I could tell she was crying. When Connor and Riley went upstairs, Harper back away and sat on the couch. I went and sat next to her. "What's wrong?" I asked. "Nothing." She said. "I don't believe it. Tell me the truth.." I said, looking at her. "I just, I don't know. I wish my mom was still here and I wish my dad isn't like he is." She said. "Oh. Yeah, well at least he can't hurt you anymore.." I said. "If I'm totally honest with you, I wish I would die." She said. "Why?" I asked. "Because. There's no reason to stay alive." She said. "Actually, there's more reasons than you think." I said. "Oh yeah? Like what?" She asked. "Me. Riley. Connor. Thomas. Braiden. There's 5 right there. Then theres my parents, so that makes 7. Then there's One Direction with makes 12. Then there's all the YouTubers you like which ranks it up to at least 20." I said. I could tell she was smiling a little. "But One Direction and all the YouTubers I like don't know I exist." She said. "I'm sure they do." I said.
She didn't say anything. She just at there. "Hey, let's watch a movie." I said. I didn't know what to do.. I hate seeing her like this. It literally hurts me seeing her like this. "Alright." She said. "What do you want to see? We've got Harry Potter, Nemo, The Spongebob movie, name it and I'll see if we have it. If we don't, we can use Netflex." I said. "Harry Potter." She said. I knew she was going to pick that and I already had it out. "I knew you were going to at that." I laughed. I heard her laugh a little. "What's wrong with Harry Potter?" She asked. I could tell she was smiling. "Nothing." I said. I laughed a little. I heard her laugh a little back. I put in the movie and we watched it. Soon after I sat down next to her, he leaned over and resting her head on my shoulder. As time passed and all 8 movies played, she ended up cuddled next to me. I got a blanket and covered her up with it. When the movies ended, she fell asleep cuddled up next to me. I decided not to wake her and I was tired myself so I just laid there and fell asleep with my arm around Harper.

Haii so I just wanted to say: I won't be able to get on here as much so if we talk a lot on here, I'm sorry. I'll only be able to get on in the afternoon and maybe not even then. I'll just be really busy and with violin lessons starting and I plan on taking basketball, I just don't know how much I'll be able to come on. So I am sorry if replies and updates are really slow..
