"May I come in, sir?" Cerah asked in a low voice.
Mr Paul gestured for her to get in with a scowl.
Cerah padded to her usual spot beside Car on the last desk as the entire class scribbled away silently on their answer sheets.
"Where have you been?" Hisses Car, ducking down to hide from Mr Paul's line of sight.
"I was looking for you and Chris so we could go to class together," Cerah hissed back with a glare as she settled down beside Car.
"We looked for you in the canteen. You weren't there so we figured you must've left for class but you weren't here eith-"
"Minus two marks for Ms Vienna and the one beside her," said Mr Paul, not bothering to look up from the book he was reading.
"The name's Christiana Gregor, sir," said Car innocently.
"Hey! That's my name!" Screeched Chris, throwing an eraser at Car, causing the whole class to laugh.
"Silence all of you!" Yelled Mr Paul. "The three of you can submit your answer sheets and leave. NOW," said Mr Paul glaring daggers at them.
Cerah shrugged standing up and walked over to the front of the class to submit her answer sheet before she exited the class.
She hadn't made it two steps further when she felt two hands fall on either side of her shoulder.
"Wow! It's been so long since the three of us got thrown out of class," said Chris grinning.
"Well, Cerah did get thrown out on the very first day," laughed Car.
"Yeah, that happened," laughed Cerah.
"Did you manage to get anything down on the paper?" Asked Chris, leaning on the corridor wall as the three of them came to a halt.
"Nope, completely blank," Cerah said as she jumped up and sat on a ledge.
"You should've tried to write something, Cerah. These grades are important," said Car frowning, "besides, aren't we getting paired up based on the grades of this test?"
"I don't really care," shrugged Cerah, "I forgot there's a test. So it's not like I would've written anything anyway."
"Wow, Cerah's getting a minus two then?" Asked Chris laughing.
"Totally," Cerah laughed.
There was an awkward pause in which all three of them were thinking the same thing.
Car and Chris exchanged nervous glances and said together, "Cerah..."
Cerah shifted her attention towards them in response.
"We're sorry, Cer. We shouldn't have reacted like that last night." Said Chris.
"Yeah we shouldn't have," Car said shaking her head apologetically.
Cerah took in a deep breath and said, "it's ok girls, happens," putting on a smile.
After a moment's pause Car said, "But can you not expel Helen, Cer?"
"No, Car."
"She's our friend, Cer."
"She was. And it was a mistake."
"So, you've made up your mind?"
Cerah shrugged in response.
"It's ok Car, Cerah's right. Sometimes you gotta be harsh. It's not like Helen was being a good friend to us either. She promised not to bully and still did it behind our backs, that too using Cer's name."
"Exactly what I'm talking about. Why on earth do you need such a friend Car?" Asked Cerah.
"You guys have a point I guess," sighed Car, defeated.
"Cheer up Car," Cerah said, jumping off the ledge she was perched on.
"As long as we have each other we're good," Cerah said wrapping an arm around each of her best friends, pulling them to herself.
"What's with the sudden love attack?" Asked Chris laughing.
"I don't know, who else do I have to show my love?" pouted Cerah.
"Aww, look at our babyyy" Car cooed ruffling Cerah's hair, causing the corridor to fill up with their laughter.
