I walked into the building confidently as what I was going to say repeated in my head.

I knocked on John's door and heard a faint 'come in.'

I took a deep breath and opened the door to see a girl with long brown hair and light brown eyes staring back at me.

"Jazmine this is Jorden, Jorden this is Jazmine." He introduced.

I nodded and gave the girl a small smile

"Sorry am I interrupting?" I asked

"No,no, not at all we were just finishing up. Jorden will be joining August on tour as his choreographer." He said excitedly.

I forced a big smile and nodded, "that's amazing, congratulations." I said to Jorden.

"Thank you." She replied with a smile.

"Just give us five more minutes and I'll be right with you Jazmine," John said with a smile.

I nodded giving both another small smile and left the office. My palms were starting to get clammy because of how nervous I was.

I paced the hall out of the office getting lost in my own thoughts when I heard a familiar voice.

August.

I pretended to be doing something on my phone as he walked in my direction.

"Jazmine? Can I talk to you for a minute?" I heard him ask but I kept my eyes on my phone.

"Jazmine I'm serious.. I wanna apologize, again, for being an ass and I promise you from here on out I'll-"

"I'm quitting." I stated as I glanced up at him, "You'll no longer have a constant reminder of a tragic event on your life."

I continues to avoid eye contact with him as he stared down at me, "You're quitting? Come on Jazmine, I'm apologizing which isn't something I do often." He said chuckling a little.

"Well then save your breath," I shrugged carelessly.

John's door opened and Jorden walked out, "He's ready to see you." She said with a smile.

I nodded as I stole another quick glance at August before mumbling, "Bye" and walking into John's office.

"What can I do for you Jazmine?" John asked with his hands intertwined on his desk.

"I'd like to resign." I said seriously.

His eyebrows rose as his expression changed from friendly to surprised, "Can I ask why?"

"August and I have a history...not a good one apparently, so in order for him to be happy I'll leave." I said.

Part of me wanted August to walk through the door and ask me to stay again maybe to even start over again; but another part of me wanted nothing to do with his selfish ass.

"He's actually seemed to be better than before, are you sure you can't stay until he finishes his tour?" He asked desperately, "I'll raise your salary, please." He pleaded.

I raised an eyebrow at a higher salary,"I'll think about it and let you know in a couple days."

I stood up and shook his hand, he looked troubled by the idea of me quitting probably because he would have to waste time looking for a replacement.

August was no longer in the hallway when I walked out of the office.

The thought of staying until he finished the tour with a raise weighed heavily on me as I walked to my car.

Pulling out my phone I called the only person I go to with my problems and get real advice; Crystal.

"Hello?" She answered on the third ring,

"I need to talk to you, can I come over?" I asked as I started my car.

"Yeah sure, are you okay J?" She questioned concerned.

"Yeah I just need some advice." I mumbled into the phone.

Once I arrived to Crystals house before I could even knock on the front door she pulled me inside and started questioning me; "Are you okay?", "What's wrong?", "Are you hurt?".

I laughed and started at the beginning I told her how he had been ignoring me, what he did at the club, the argument at my apartment the next day, and what happened at his house.

"Wow...Jaz I'm sorry this is my fault for putting you in this position."

I shrugged and looked down my hands before looking back at her,"Now I don't know what to do.."

"I think you should give him another chance," she said seriously, "Just hear me out though before you start arguing okay? August is...difficult, we both know this but he's not a bad person. He only talks about Mel in interviews never to someone he can actually trust you know? When I try to talk to him about it, he changes the subject or says he doesn't want to talk about it. He had all those feelings bottled up and when he saw you he probably didn't know how to handle them." She shook her head and sighed,

"I can understand if you don't want to continue working for him though, but I think you should give him one more chance." She finished.

I frowned as I thought about what she said as a small smile spread across my face, "I mean the money would be nice."

"Good," she let out a breath in relief, "because I did not want to deal with August." She laughed loudly.

I laughed along with her but couldn't help but feel like I was going to be disappointed and hurt again in the end; the nagging at the back of my mind by conscious was telling me to leave him alone because he was selfish, but my heart understood how troubled August must be after everything he went through and told me he deserved a second chance.

I just hope my heart's right.
