I glanced between August, Rae, and Rome.

"Look man-" Rome started to move off the couch.

"Nah I don't wanna hear what the fuck you gotta say." He said angrily.

He clenched his fists by his side and clenched his jaw as he glared at his friend.

"August I'm so sorry.." Rae said as tears brimmed her eyes.

"Liar." I thought.

"Nah don't fucking feed me bullshit! How long the fuck this been goin' on behind me back?!" He yelled.

"August-"

"How long!" He shouted.

Rae jumped and flinched away from him.

"Well a couple months after we started dating, R-Rome and I started talking then one thing led to another..." She trailed off before standing up and hesitantly walk over to August. "But I still love you, I'm sorry. I really am and if you give me another chance I promise I won't do this again." She said as the tears fell and she reached out to touch him.

He moved away from her, "Don't fucking touch me Rae, I ain't playin' games wit yo ass. I gave you fuckin' chance and you turn around and fuck my main nigga. I told you personal shit I thought I could trust you with and you turn around and do me like this? A couple months after we got together? Nah get the fuck outta my face with this sorry shit." He said seriously.

She tried to touch him again but this time he pushed her away from him. "I told yo hoe ass don't touch me." He said harshly.

"Now chill out with all this shit August if you did your job right the first time-" Rome didn't even finish as August punched him in the jaw and had him pinned against the wall in a matter of seconds.

"Nigga and who the fuck are you to be telling me to be doin shit right?! Huh?!" He questioned adding pressure to Romes neck. "You were suppose to be my best fuckin' friend and you fuck my girl? What should stop me from killin yo ass right now?" He said through clenched teeth.

Rome had given up on struggling against August tight grip and was now coughing as if he was trying to get air in his lungs.

"August no please!" Rae yelled, she was sobbing now.

I decided I had to step in or else somebody was going to get seriously hurt.

I cautiously made my way over to August and Rome.

"August..listen to me, I get your mad okay? Rome isn't worth it neither is Rae. Just calm down.." I said gently.

I was now right beside August; Rome looked like he was about to pass out and August didn't show any sigh of loosening the grip he had on his neck.

"Look think about it like this, if you kill Rome you'll get jail time. You'll have a death on your hands-" I started.

"Wouldn't be the first death." He said coldly.

A shiver ran down my spine at that dark fact.

"Okay but this time you will go to jail, this isn't the streets this is my aunts house. Whose to say Rae won't call the police and tell them everything that happened? Are these two worth jail time for murder?" I was reaching out to grab the hand that was wrapped around Rome's neck. "He's not worth it August..." I said quietly.

His grip loosened and he let me move his hand from Rome's neck, Rome dropped to the floor with a loud thud. I pulled August away as Rae ran to Rome's rescue.

My hand was still wrapped around his, I rubbed that back of his hand soothingly as his chest heaved up and down quickly.

"Calm down.." I mumbled.

I hesitated before letting go of his hand and pulling into a hug, I rubbed his back softly until he seemed calm enough.

Suddenly he pushed me away, I looked at him shocked and confused.

"Don't try to play the hero you knew and you didn't say anything.." He said lowly and calmly.

"I just found out a couple weeks ago August, she told me she was going to tell you." I said defensively.

"You should of told me the day you found out." He said shaking his head.

I scoffed and turned my face up. "We weren't exactly the closest."

"You right, well you know what we still ain't. Stay away from me for now on ion want nothin' to do with you or your hoe ass cousin." He said seriously.

I felt like I had just been slapped as he walked out of the front door and my life.
