Chapter 4

<Hayes' Pov>

We walked home and made small talk. We got to her door.

"Well I should be getting home now."
"Goodnight Hayes."
"Goodnight Paige!" She kissed my cheek and smiled. I went home and ran up into my room. I laid on the bed with a smile on my face and I thought about everything that happened today and I thought about Paige. I learned a lot about her today! She has the biggest heart and cares about everyone! She makes sure everyone is happy! All the little girls in there today would watch her dance around and they would tell her mom how pretty she is! I mean I would have to concur with that she is gorgeous. I wish she was my girl but she doesn't like me like that... She still thinks of me as 'The bad boy' I don't blame her tho I pressured her into doing stuff that I shouldn't have! I'm such a dick! I need to go away for a while and get a grip on my life! I don't like what I've become I wanna be a better person not only for me but for my friends and Paige! Especially Paige! Maybe then she will like me. I plugged my phone in and played music. Then slowly fell into a deep sleep.

<Paige's Pov>

I said goodnight to Hayes and when he said goodnight to me I kissed his cheek without even thinking... Ugh why did I do that! He's going to think I'm such a tease! One minute telling him im not looking for a relationship the next kissing him on the cheek! Gosh why does he have to be so hot! Wait.. Did I just think that he was hot.. Oh gosh I got it bad! I like him kinda maybe but I don't want to. He's a bad influence on me and I don't want to make any other stupid decisions like I did earlier! But I'd be lying if I said that how I felt when I was drunk was a weird but cool feeling. I wasn't myself the other day and I wasn't having a great day and it numbed all my feelings and thoughts except the ones about Hayes. But I don't want to be that girl known as the girl that as soon as she got to high school she becomes a partier! (not a real word oh well) I want a good rep and being around Hayes isn't going to give me that rep. This is too much to process right now! I took a shower and brushed my teeth and French braided my hair and went to sleep.
~Next Morning~
I woke up and checked my phone and saw I had 10 text messages. Wow it's 6am and I have 10 text messages Im so popular just kidding Haha wow I'm so funny I have no friends! It's a collaboration day so I don't start until 9:45 so I don't know why I'm up right now.. I laid back down but couldn't go back to sleep. So I got up and picked out an outfit. I grabbed my high waisted jeans and 5sos sweatshirt. As I went to put my sweatshirt on all I could smell was alcohol..I took it off and found a different sweatshirt. This one was super cute and soft! I went downstairs and ate cereal and some toast. When I was done I went back upstairs and curled my hair and brushed my teeth. I fluffed my hair and made really cute loose ringlets. I spayed my hair with hairspray and grabbed my maroon beanie and put it on then I grabbed my maroon vans and put them on. I grabbed my phone.
"Crap!" I whispered to myself I forgot to answer the messages and now I have 25 messages. 10 from Hayes. 10 from my friend Rose and 5 from my dad.
Hayes😒: Hey let's walk to school together.
Hayes😒: hello?
Hayes😒:ok I guess you're not awake yet... Maybe.. Or your just ignoring me.. Idk but text me when you get this!
Hayes😒: Paige Hope! Please answer me!
What the heck how does he know my middle name im confused!
Hayes😒: Are you mad at me!
Hayes😒: Hey I need to talk to you today!
Hayes😒: don't worry it's a good thing!
Hayes😒: But I need your advice so when you get this text me back!
Hayes😒: PAIGE!! ANSWER ME!
Hayes😒: paige!!!!!!
Hayes😒: Ok I give up! ✌️

Me: sorry I've been getting ready! If you want to I guess you can come over.. We can talk but no funny business please im trying to have a good day and forget about this weekend!

Then I opened my dads.

Daddy💕: Hey paige I went to the diner early this morning I had to do some extra cleaning we have a health department coming today to check the diner so I need to make sure it's spick and span! Love you have a great day sweetie.
Daddy💕: Hey come straight to the diner after school! I need to show you something!
Daddy💕: Just kidding I don't need you here today I need you to clean the house as part of your punishment! If you want Rose can come over and hangout but NO BOYS!!
Daddy💕: text me when you wake up! love you baby girl!
Daddy💕: Health inspector is hear I'll talk to you later! ❤️❤️😘
Me: good luck daddy love you too! And ok I will sorry about Friday I didn't mean to it won't happen again!
Then I opened Rose's
Rosebud🌹: Hey wanna go to school together?
Rosebud🌹: I feel like we haven't talked in forever! How was your weekend.
Rosebud🌹: Im going to assume your sleeping!
Rosebud🌹: Well wake your freakin butt up! CUZ we need to talk!
Rosebud🌹: hello?!?
Rosebud🌹: did you die?
Rosebud🌹: Yep you're definitely dead!
Rosebud🌹: well it been good knowing you! I love you my beautiful best friend!
Rosebud🌹: ok well I guess I'll have to catch you another time!

Me: Sorry I was getting ready and forgot to check my phone! I can't walk with you today I have other plans! 😁😳 I'll tell you about everything after school! Oh hey wanna come over after school im on punishment but he said you can come over and help me clean or hangout while I clean even though you are my neighbor and I can see you when our windows are open still come over! Haha! Well love you!

As I was about to set my phone down it buzzed again.
Hayes😒: Can you open the door it's kind of cold out here!😂😒
Me: oh sorry coming! Why didn't you ring the doorbell?😂
Hayes😒: I did....
Me: oh awkward sorry...
I ran down stairs and opened the door.
"Good mornings Hayes!"
"Good morning Beautiful!" I blushed but tried to cover it up! "Paige you look hot.. I mean beautiful this morning!" I turned away so he couldn't see me blushing..

"Thank you Hayes!"

"You're welcome! I'm just telling you the truth!"

"So what did you need to tell me that was so important?"

"Well well after Christmas I will be going to Rehab! I decided it was time to start getting my life together! I wanna be with you and I know that if I stay the way I am you won't want to be with me.."

"Wow Hayes I'm proud of you!" I gave him a hug.

"Thank you. I'm scared that I'm not going to be able to stop! It's hard for me.. I haven't had a drink in 2 days and I'm having withdraws right now!"

"That's what rehab is for! They will help you become a better person and learn how to stop drinking!"

"True I'm just scared!"

"Don't be it is going to be good for you! I'll even come and support you and go to the meetings for you and I will visit you once a week or so."

"Will you really?"

"Yes!" Im the reason you're going the least I could do is go and support you! Even if we don't really know each other that well!"

"When need to get to know each other CUZ I like you but I barely know anything about you.. Except that you lost your virginity to me and I was the one who gave you your first drink and I know where you work and your middle name that's it that's all I know about you..."

"True well when you get out I promise that we will get to know each other! Deal?"

"Deal." I looked at the time and decided it was time we leave. We walked out the door and walked to school.
