Chapter 14

<Paige's Pov>

I went to my room and put on leggings and a zip up jacket and walked to Hayes' house. I got to the door and I rang the doorbell.. The door opened and there stood Nash. He had a sympathetic look on his face. He probably could tell that I have been crying for a few hours from the puffiness of my eyes and the makeup smeared under my eyes.

"Oh hey Paige."

"Uhh hi Nash." I said fighting tears. This is one of the hardest things I'm going to have to do. He saw me fighting tears and hugged me.

"Umm how can I help you?" He said leading me inside.

"Umm.. Is uhh.. Hay.."

"He's upstairs in his room." Nash said cutting me off knowing that I didn't want to finish saying what I have to say.

"Thanks Nash." I said with no emotion at all.

"You're welcome." He gave me one last hug. "Stay strong if you need anything I'm down here. I love you Paige!"

"Thank you Nash! Love us too!" I started walking upstairs and my hands began to shake and sweat. When I got to the top of the stairs I felt like Jello. I went to knock on the door when someone came out. It was Shawn. He shut the door quickly and pulled me to the side.

"I didn't expect to see you here." He whispered.

"I know. Rose and I came back early... It's a long story! But she missed you so go see her! And she will explain it all to you... Minus the Hayes part I guess cuz you probably already knew about that!" I whispered back. He nodded.

"Alright well I'll let you go in there! I'm rooting for you guys! Hope it all works out! I love you paige!"

"Love you too!" He hugged me then walked away. I nervously approached his door. I took a deep breath and knocked shakily.

"Go away." I stood there silently for a few moments not knowing what to do. I knocked again. "Do you not understand English go away!"

"Hayes...." There was an awkward pause.

"Paige?" He asked in confusion. He came up to the door and opened it. His hair was all messy, eyes were puffy and red, he was shirtless and had football shorts on.

"So umm I was just wondering if we can just talk this out in person! I don't like how we left things over the phone a few hours ago. It wasn't right and I just really needed to talk to you after we broke up but I couldn't! A lot went down literally right after and I wanted to talk to my best guy friend but we are currently fighting so I can't! I hate fighting with you but this, this Hayes is probably one of the worst things you could have done! Scratch that it is! I have been sitting in the car for the past few hours bawling my eyes out!! I'm tired of crying but it's hard not to!" Tears flowed out of my eyes.

"Paige I'm-im sorry! I don't know what I was thinking! I wasn't thinking actually! You have no idea how bad I felt after when I realized I did it. I wish I had a time machine to go back in time and fix this! I wish I would have listened to Shawn when he said not to go to the party! Paige I'm sorry and I understand if you don't want to forgive me quite yet! I know I really hurt you and I hurt myself but I hurt you more! And for that I'm always going to feel bad! But what are you talking about when you say stuff went down after? What happened? Are you hurt? What happened?"

"Like you would care..." I rolled my eyes and looked away.

"Paige stop! I do care! Please just tell me!"

"Fine, well Rose took me to get ice cream and the lady that was working noticed I was crying and gave me a free sundae.. We sat down and I was talking to Rose about our break up and I looked at the lady that was working and she looked familiar. I didn't know how but she did. After a few minutes of trying to decide how I knew her I figured out that it was my mom..."
