Only later that day was Andrew signing my adoption papers. I was really excited but I was almost in shock in the moment as if my brain hadn't figured out what was happening yet. I thought about whether or not I should talk to anybody and say goodbye, but then I realized that I don't really know anyone here. We were all just living together not really interacting on a personal level. And Elijah had already said that they didn't want to talk to me again so I decided just to leave without a trace, keeping my iPad.

"Got everything?" He asked stooping down in a lunge-like squat so he was just below my level. I had already packed and I don't have many things anyway let alone cared about so I simply replied "yup!" And picked up my duffel.

"You ready to go?"

"Ready!"

"Then let's go home!"
