A laugh escaped me and filled the silent void. I could feel Chase, Coles and Aaron's eyes on me, I'm sure they think I've lost it.

'No Aaron, you know what the 'killer part' is?' My voice grew dark and husky.

Aaron didn't say a word as his eyes slowly darted around, only just realising he was fighting a battle, alone.

Once his eyes found mine so did his words, 'Say what you want Derek, even if I die, I'm not the one who's truly fucked up.'

I brushed his words aside as if they were nothing, 'The killer part is... I'm not alone. I'm not packless or Mateless, and you will always be alone. Till death do you part.'

And with that, Cole took my cue and took his head. Apart in body and in soul.

'Derek,' Chase spoke softly in human form.

'Lets find her, and bring her home.'

We all ran in Wolf form to find Kat. Our bond was slowly fading and it made me anxious, but above all... Frightened.

'I can't lose you,' I called to her mind, knowing well she couldn't hear me. But praying she somehow she would.

Then I found it, her scent. It was barely there but I couldn't miss it. Turning quickly I picked up the pace, pack in toe and ran faster than I ever have. Until we came to an underground shelter.

I shifted and changed into human form, wanting nothing more than to curse Peter before I ripped his beating heart from his chest cavity.

The metal stairs beneath me emphasised my entrance and so I had to move quick. Chase and Cole followed closely as my Beta watched guard.

We readied ourselves for a fight as a dim light hit our eyes. It was a prison, a cell prison and there laying on the ground was, Kat.

I raced to her side and strained my ears for any sign she was alive. But she wasn't moving, and she wasn't breathing. I was too late.

My heart felt like it was being crushed, my reality began to slip and my world was being to come crashing down.

'Derek. I never told you what is was like to lose her,' Chase spoke quietly, as his words bounced off the walls of the cell.

I didn't bother to look at him, I couldn't think. I could only feel the void that was slowly consuming me.

Chase spoke again, not needing a response, 'The worst part of losing her wasn't watching the colour drain from her face.' He paused.

'The worst part, was knowing I could of saved her...' His words were filled with regret and anger, much like how I felt.

'But there difference is, you still can.'

His words sounded so far away that I was sure I had made them up, but then they slowly sunk in. They pulled me to the surface of the abyss I had been falling in.

My next word sounded strangled and full of suspicion, 'What?'

'Once I found Emily, I knew I couldn't let her go. Not even in 'death do us part.' I looked at him in shock. He hadn't said her name in a long time.

'So I went looking for a way so that I may never see the day she'd die. And I found it.' Chase watched me carefully before proceeding, 'But it comes with a cost.'

'I looked up from Kat's beautiful face still in wolf form, to state at my best friend, 'You know I would do absolutely anything.'

A painful expression crossed his face as he understood the seriousness of my words, 'In order to save her, you must give her your life.'

My life. My heart said yes without so much as a beat, but my head said otherwise. I looked down and gently stroked Kat's slowly cooling cheeks.

She WAS my life. She was my everything, and without her I wouldn't be living much of a life. But my pack... I was an Alpha.

I had responsibilities, obligations. I couldn't leave them alone, could I?

'Alpha,' Cole spoke solemnly, 'There is no choice here. You have to choose her. Don't worry about the pack, they know how much she means to you. She will be a magnificent Luna.'

Cole's words were inspiring and heart felt, but I was lost. If Kat knew, what would she say?

'Derek, if you don't you will regret it for the rest of your life. She will be Luna, but if you don't take this chance, you will a lousy excuse for an Alpha,' Chase spoke truth.

He knew me well enough to know Kat's death would destroy me. My pack was better off with Kat as Luna, then a mindless Alpha.

'Tell me how to save her,' my voice pleaded with the Moon Goddess as my hand lay gently on her heart.
