After my first successful shift everything changed. I was ecstatic to finally shift into my Wolf, and to make things even better, I was uniquely coloured.

No one else in my pack was Black and White, everyone else was variations of Brown. The pack began to feel that I was special again, but I didn't know just how true that was until two weeks later.

I began to be able to understand what the birds sang about every morning, and what the dogs in the park barked about.

So when I was by myself I started to talk to the animals on my way to school. I was surprised and overjoyed when they heard and spoke back to me.

Then it became a regular thing for me to visit the zoo in the afternoon. The animals there too understood me and excitedly responded.

I didn't know why I could understand them until one afternoon at the zoo. The White Lion at the zoo never spoke to me but this day he did. I use to admire him from the walk way.

But when he yelled at me to 'Look out!' I responded with the flight response. A Tiger had escaped from the cage and he was a big Grump. He was headed straight for me but I leapt into the air.

I was surprised when I stayed there, hovering. White wings had sprouted from my back and I had escaped the Tiger.

At night I would sneak outside and practice shifting. I learnt that if I focused on a certain animal, that I could take the shape of that animal. I also learned that it hurt to break my bones constantly. But after awhile it got easier to do.

I was the only one I knew of that could do what I could and that made me happy. Little did I know that someone else had found out about this secret of mine.

The day I had finally decided to show my folks what I had learned about myself, they were both shocked and surprised. After the initial shock they praised and warned me.

They warned that others may be jealous and even threatened by what I could do, and so we kept it a secret from the pack. But that night I learnt of what my parents had warned me of.

A Rogue pack had attacked our pack in the middle of the night. A lot of lives were lost because of me. The Rogues wanted what I had and wanted me to find out how they could do what I did.

That night my entire pack and my parents died saving me. I got away unharmed because I was afraid and spent the next few years moving constantly, not staying one animal for too long. I ran for as long as I can remember, until a tall, tanned, brown eyed, gorgeous man changed my life.
