I held her.
I held her as tight as possible.
"Don't ever try to do something like that again" I cry hugging her.
"You scared the shit out of me! I thought I lost you" I say trying to contain my trembling voice as I feel something wet my shirt.
I look at her just to see her in tears.
"Hey hey no no no, why the tears" I ask as I wipe them with my thumbs, gently pushing her back to make her lie on the bed.
"Did I hurt you? Oh God, you're so fucking hurt and I'm holding you so fucking tight-" I was interrupted by a laugh.
Her laugh.
"You are laughing?" I ask a little shocked by her reaction.
But she laughs again.
"Okay, now why are you laughing?" I finally smile happy that she is really smiling.
"You're a straight A's student but sometimes you're so damn stupid and foolish" she laughs softly.
"Oh yeah? Do you think so?" I ask her while I do some stupid poses trying to make her laugh.
And she did it.
And I swear I've never heard more beautiful sound.
"Stop stop stop hahahah my stomach hurts" she tries to say laughing but she was clearly starting to suffer.
"Okay okay let's calm down a little" I smile.
"But seriously, why the tears?" I ask a little curious.
"You care about me.
You REALLY care about me!” she says slowly as more tears have started streaming down her cheeks.
"Hey ssshhh, come here" I hug her trying not to hurt her.
"I'll always take care of you, okay? I'll never let anyone hurt you again"
She nods on my shoulder as she begins to speak.
"What happened?"
I laugh.
"You haven't missed anything love" I smile.
"I know it sounds like a lot but it's been a month.
We put your parents in jail for life, we sued the doctor who treated you incorrectly, we even arrested the creep that hurt you that night!
Ah and you're coming to live with me.
Technically you are 17 and you should go into foster care ... but here it is ... my uncle Davis has decided to take you into foster care, so that you can be free as soon as you are 18.
In the meantime you will live with me!
Doesn't this all sound incredible so far? "I say smiling excitedly.
"Too much ... it's too wonderful to be true" she whispered as another tear ran down her cheek.
So I took her face in my hands.
"No love, none of this is too much, you deserve it all. This is just the beginning of your new life"
She looks at me with tears in his eyes.
But for once they weren't sad tears.
She was happy.
She was really happy.
She nods and lies down in my arms so that I can hug her.
"I know it's been a month ... but is she still available that afternoon with cookies and cuddles?" she ask smiling.
"Whenever you want melady" I smile as her face lights up.
"Anyway, the stuffed otter is the cutest thing I've ever seen" she points.
"After me" I say.
"After you" she smiles laughing.
"But wait ... so have you heard everything?"
"Every word you said.
You were the only thing that kept me from going crazy .... I guess the last thing that happened to my heart was because I was getting mad and I was afraid I wouldn't wake up in time" she mumbles "but now we have to get out of here, I don't want to stay a second longer in this bed. Can you take these needles off me please?" she asks with puppy eyes.
I smile and hug her even more.
"I'm so sorry you had to go through all this ...
Charlie you probably don't know, but you are a miracle.
A miracle in medicine.
And a miracle for me .... I love you Charlie, with all of myself"
"I love you too puppy"
And with that we had the most amazing kiss I could ask for.
She was so..... i have no word....God how much I love her.
When we stopped I watched her smile at me making me the happiest man in this world.
Now she was hugging me and I knew what she was trying to do.
"Nice try but we'll stay here until you get better" I tell her, teasing her knowing she was planning a way to buy me.
"UH COME ON!" she laughs annoyed that I already knew her next moves.
I laugh and kiss her head as she hugs me tightly.
"I promise it won't be that bad" I whisper in her ear.
"I still love you" she says as she sits comfortably with her head against my chest making me smile.
"I love you more"

Hey guys! The next chapter will be the last!
I changed a few things in previous chapters because they didn't make enough sense and I didn't like them. Some things I will also reuse in my new stories so I can enrich them.
I have really learned a lot about how to write a chapter and hope to learn more for my next new story!
I can't believe this journey is almost over.
