Missing her mom, Pearl felt herself driving to the graveyard. She hadn't visited her in a while and was missing talking to her a lot. Kirari was busy with her own stuff and Pearl needed someone to vent to. She didn't hate her best friend for having goals but kinda wished that they could meet up more.

Grabbing the bouquet of sunflowers, Pearl stepped out and locked her car before walking over to her mom's grave. She stared at the marble tombstone that she hadn't seen in a while and just sighed. Laying a blanket down, she sat on it and placed the sunflowers in front of the tombstone.

"Hey momma, I been missing you and just thought I should pop up. I'm in a bit of a mess right now and ion know what to do." Pearl began as she stared at the tombstone, staring at the sunset that reflected back on it.

"Ion like Marquis but I don't know how to end it." She admitted, deep down she'd always known that it wasn't going to work out with him.

He'd never given her any type of spark, just comfort. The same comfort she could get from a tub of ice cream or her comfort show Fresh Prince of Bel Air. Marquis wasn't anything special, he was just a kind soul that happened to cross paths with her at the wrong time.

"I be missing Kirari. If she ain't studying, she taking care of her siblings and if she ain't doin that, she busy tutoring someone." Pearl sighed, she wished that they could have fun together but she knew that not everyone was as fortunate as her.

She had the privilege of being able to be teenager. Kirari did not have that privilege. The girl had too many people relying on her for her to even live for herself, which was why Pearl couldn't even have the nerve to hate the fact that she couldn't go out.

"The whole situation with Reese isn't so complicated no mo. He don't talk to me at all, I think it's time we went our separate ways." Pearl shrugged, "Just like you used to say, Momma, it should never be that difficult in the beginning."

"Your momma right." A deep, velvety voice spoke from behind her, cutting through the silence.

Pearl turned around whilst still seated, she saw the most handsome man she'd ever seen in her life. He was tall, most likely 6 foot since he looked taller than her. Neat, perfect cornrows filled his hair while his beard was thick and healthy. Tattoos painted his whole body from his arms, neck and even his face, this man screamed trouble and as his dark, amusement-filled eyes stared at her, she couldn't help but feel like she was in a trance.

"If shit difficult in the beginning, what makes you want to stay?" Blanco asked as he pulled a sunflower from the bouquet that he was already holding and placed it with the ones that Pearl had brought. His delicious cologne filling her nostrils and making her mouth-water.
