Three Years Ago...

Reese walked into his first day of high school as a freshman, he was tired because he'd spent all night playing basketball in the backyard. His pops worked day and night so he was never home, Reese missed him like hell but he knew that this was just how life was. Sighing, he walked into the lesson and sat all the way at the back, it seemed like everyone had come to high school with their friends from middle school which sucked for Reese.

He never had any friends in middle school. Reese had always found it hard to socialize in general, from a young age he was just very closed off. He wasn't an angry or emotionless child, he just didn't like making the first move or talking too much when he was around people. In a sense, Reese was kinda similar to Reneé. She didn't have any friends all throughout high school, she chilled all by herself but she seemed fine with it. Reneé and Reese both enjoyed being alone, it was what brought them peace, they both tended to get annoyed very easily and people's energies were just weird.

Always full of bad intentions.

Reese pulled his books out and placed them on the desk. This was his first lesson of English Lit and he wanted to see what they were learning about. Middle school had been a breeze for him thanks to his intelligence and Reneé teaching him everything he didn't understand, so Reese was very confident in himself.

Students filled the classroom like a herd of buffalos, loudly and quickly. They all filled the seat except the one beside him. Which was expected of course. Just when he thought that was it, a girl with big eyes and a bright yellow, Nirvana t-shirt entered the class. She looked around for a seat before she spotted the one next to him, causing him to sigh and rub his temple a bit. He prayed that she wouldn't talk to him, but she did and with a bright smile at that.

"I'm Kirari, you are?" She asked him as her lips dripped with lipgloss. Reese stared at her and grimaced, he kissed his teeth before looking at the board. He didn't want to be her friend. Reese thought she put on way too much lip gloss, her hair looked a mess and her voice was so high-pitched that it made his head hurt. Being around her felt like being exposed to the sun for too long. Uncomfortable, excessive and with a banging migraine.

Kirari's smile didn't waver. Instead she turned around and ignored his rudeness before pulling her stuff out, Reese could see from the corner of his eye that she had a whole pink, furry pencil case. She hummed a song happily while she wrote the date and all the shit needed while the teacher walked in. The fuck she so happy fa? Reese side-eyed her before he turned his attention on the teacher and listened to her while she talked.
