"What is that?" James takes the chart out of remus' hands and examinates it with squinted eyes.
"Oh its called morse code, you use it-"
"Ohh lily told me about this once"
James interrupted him and Sirius hit him across the head.

"Well, Potter, lily hasn't told us, right Pete?" Peter nodded "So, remus, proceed." Sirius said with a hand gesture for Remus to keep talking.
Remus just rolled his eyes and snatched the chart out of James' hands to lay it on the table infront of the fireplace.

"The dots and lines represent letters, for example, one dot and one line are the letter A, and if you put a few of these together, you can form words and even sentences. You can do it as a sound, a dot is a short sound and a line is a longer one, or you can write it down on paper."

He explains and his three friends listen to him carefully.
"Why do you have it? The board I mean" Peter asks.
"It's for muggle studies but I knew about it before."
"Well that's way too complicated for me, I'll ask lily to explain that to me again." James says grinning and Peter rolls his eyes. "We all know you're not that dense, James. You just need an excuse to talk to lily."
"So?" James shrugged.

"Well I think that's super interesting, can you tell us something in mouse code."
"It's morse code, Sirius." Peter corrects but laughs a little.

Remus leans forward and starts tapping on the table.

(u r stupid)

Their eyes flew across the board and searched for the letters, when they formed the sentence they all looked at a grinning remus and let out an offended sound.

"Has anyone seen my morse code board." Remus asked two weeks later as he walked into the dorm room and was met by a too innocent looking Sirius.

Remus raised his eyebrow and Sirius who rolled his eyes and pulled the chart from under his pillow.

"What do you need this for?"
Sirius shrugged "Just thought it was interesting and wanted to learn a bit."
Remus tried not to look too fond and rolled his eyes instead.
"You could've just ask me to copy it for you." He said and tapped the board with his Wand before it duplicated itself.

"Oh.. yeah." Sirius laughed and gave the original back to remus.

"So? Did you learn something already?"
Remus asked, Sirius nodded and leaned over his bedside table.

"Hey that's good! Keep going." Remus smiled and walked down the stairs again, leaving a beaming Sirius behind.

"Alright class, today we're going to-"

"Pssssst"

Remus forced himself to listen to their teacher instead of Sirius' ridiculous attempt to get his attention.
What was he? A cat?

"Remus" He whisper-yelled and remus turned his head.
"You're right next to me why don't you just talk." He asked "You always talk."
Sirius rolled his eyes.
"Because talking is boring. I want to morse code you something."

Remus let his head fall against the desk as he mumbled "I wish I never showed you this damn board."
"I know." Sirius grinned.
