December 9th, 1986.

Not long until it was Christmas. The streets of London were bustling with commuters doing their Christmas shopping for the upcoming holidays. Some were just on their way to work.

But for one couple, they were heading to the nearest hospital as they were about to give birth to their first child.

It was lucky that the father was taking time off from being on stage in London's West End to be with his wife at the end of her pregnancy.

"It's a girl."

The birth was hard on his wife that she didn't want to hold the new-born babe or nurse her. Her husband had to take care of the newborn.

The wife went out partying nearly every night whilst he cared for his daughter on his own. He had to call for help from his sister and his two brothers. He was to go back to work soon and with his wife not wanting to spend any time at all with their daughter, he had to rely on family to look after the babe.

The new year had rolled around, still the wife didn't care for their daughter at all. So, the husband stayed home yet again and rung in 1987 on his own with his daughter. His pride and joy and the best thing to come out of this marriage.

But new things were about to happen. The husband was spotted on the West End stage and was invited to go to Los Angeles to star in an action movie based off a novel. But the wife had decided to go on holiday at that time, so no one was available to look after their daughter.

So, father and daughter went on a working holiday together.

The red-carpet event of the first Harry Potter movie was in full swing. Cast members were walking down the carpet, some for the first time. Well, the younger cast members it was.

Alan Rickman and his daughter Isabella Marie Rickman were old pros at the Red-carpet events.

Alan had divorced his wife after filming Die Hard. It was his decision, and the courts ruled that Alan should have full custody over their daughter.

That was the last that they ever saw of her.

Alan and Isabella were a duo. They were never apart.

He brought his daughter onto the sets with the production teams' permission as he didn't have on call babysitters. He knew it was going to be tough raising Isabella on his own, but his family helped him out as much as they could.

But let's get back to the Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone red-carpet event.

Alan was posing for the cameras with his daughter at his side. They carried on walking down until they walked into the cinema itself. Isabella walked in to see that the bar area had been decorated with floating candles just like the Great Hall.

"Daddy, can I go and get a drink?" Isabella asked.

"Sure, you can poppet. Go and be with your friends." Alan pushed his daughter towards the bar where some of the teen cast were gathering.

Alan watched on to see his daughter enjoying the night. He had invited his long-term friend Emma Thompson to the event.

"It's nice to see her mingling with kids her age." Emma mentioned.

"Yeah, she's back at school on Monday morning. We are back filming Chamber of Secrets. It's the script read through on Monday. Would you be able to take her to school?" Alan asked of Emma.

"Yeah, I can take her. Why don't you let her sleep over Sunday night? I don't mind a night with my adopted niece." Emma mentioned.

"I don't mind, but you will have to ask Bella if she wants to. She's been a little clingy to me lately. It's been hard to even leave the trailer without her crying for me."

"Don't worry about it. Everything will be ok Alan. You will see. I will make a day out of it."
