Tom, Alan, Sophie, Michael, and Jacob were all in the waiting room at the Wellington Hospital A&E department. They were waiting on news of Isabella as she was rushed in.
Tom was sat down looking down at his phone. He called his mum to tell him that he would be late home as he was at the hospital with Bella.
The door opened hours later; a doctor walked in.
"The family of Miss Rickman?" The doctor asked.
"Yes, I'm her dad. How is my little girl? Is she going to be, ok?" Alan asked pleading with the doctor to give him good news.
"My name is Dr Charleston. I have been tending to your daughter Mr Rickman. I have spoken to Miss Rickman's original doctor on this case as you were bringing Miss Rickman in this morning. It's not looking good. The MRI scan that she had the other day revealed that she has a small tumour in her left side of the brain. But, because we caught it early enough we can treat it with chemotherapy to reduce the size of the tumour." Dr Charleston told them all.
"Bella has cancer?" Tom looked up from his chair with tears filling his eyes.
"I'm so sorry son. It's going to be a long battle for the next few months. But we are very hopeful. Your daughter is currently in surgery to have a central line fitted so that the chemo sessions can start as soon as possible."
Alan dropped to his knees and cried his heart out.
Tom got up slowly and walked over to the man on his knees crying his eyes out.
"Isabella is strong, she will get through this. We will have to be her strength, be there for her as much as possible. She will need all the love that we can give her." Tom told the man.
"We shall give her that Tom. We all will."
Bella was asleep in a private side ward. She had been brought into recovery wing after her surgery and then into the room.
Alan and the others were sat outside whilst the doctor and the nurses were making her feel more comfortable. IV fluids were attached to her, an oxygen mask on her face. Bella was dressed in hospital gown which was covered in blood. The nurses pulled Bella up gently and removed the blood-stained gown and put a fresh clean gown on for her. They then settled her down onto the bed.
The nurses left the room and told them that they could go inside but to keep the noise levels down.
Alan was the first one in to see that the doctor was just adjusting the fluids for Bella.
"She's asleep for now. It's going to a long hard battle like I mentioned downstairs, but we are very hopeful. I will leave you to visit for an hour, but then you will have to leave and come back later in the day." The Doctor left the room and shut the door.
Alan sat down in the chair that was placed on the right hand side of Bella. He held her hand and stroked it.
"I love you Bella and I am so sorry for what has happened over the last few months. I was selfish and thought of myself and not the person that lived with me and needed the support from myself. We will get you through this Bella. You will have me to support you and help you on your long hard journey." Alan's tears started to spill again.
"Love you too daddy." Bella whispered in her sleep.
Alan looked up and smiled. He reached over and brushed away Bella's hair so that he could see her face.
"You too sweetie."
THE END FOR NOW!!!
I'm going to continue this into a second part. I've already started writing this out and have a plot in my head to go on.
I'm hopefully going to continue my other Alan Rickman fanfic 'My Sister Act' as I have started to get ideas for this as I have struggled in the past few months with a plot twist. Plus also with working a lot and Shows are coming in thick and fast.
