Alessa
"Fuck!" screams Cameron as I elbow him in the face.
My eyes instantly shoot open at the sound of his voice, my hands scrambling to grab onto the blanket and cover myself.
When his features finally settle into my vision, and my heart lurches out of my chest, flatlining my fear, I let out a slight whimper. "Shit, sorry. I completely forgot you were there."
Cameron grins up at me, holding his nose. "I figured."
As the current situation sinks into my consciousness, my hands instantly grow weary.
"Wait. Shit, what time is it?" I ask, scrambling over Cameron's body to reach for my phone on my nightstand.
"Relax. It's Sunday." Provides Cameron, sitting up in my bed as my phone lights up with the date and time.
"Oh thank god!" I let out a sigh. "How is it only six forty five?"
Cameron looks over at the time screaming in the center of my screen and out to the shaded window sitting in the middle of my room. When he gets up, I notice he's only wearing his boxers... damn. My stomach clenches at the sight of each muscle in his back shifting as he saunters over to the window. When he tugs on the string of metal beads, opening the shade, his shoulder muscles shift in a way that leaves my mouth desert dry. A slight moan slips from my lips when he turns towards me and his rippling abs shine at me and his V-line plunges below his boxers.
In an attempt to hide my hunger, I clench my thighs together coughing, "Suns up."
"Yeah. What a shame. I guess it's too late to go out for a run," strings Cameron, seductively sliding over to me, desire radiating off of every pore in his body.
"Mhm," I mumble, unable to take my eyes off of the way Cameron's hips shift as he walks towards me.
When he reaches the side of my bed, he pulls me towards him, forcing my legs from underneath myself so they hang on either side of him. Without a word, Cameron's hands snake up my thighs and to my face, cupping it in a tamed manner.
Before connecting his lips to mine, he lets out a slight chuckle saying, "Good morning beautiful."
I respond with an eager moan as his lips slant onto mine, alleviating the drumming desire running through me and replacing it with a heart-warming comfort. Our kiss never deepens, but as we both pull away, a new sentiment settles between us.
Cameron releases my face and heads over to his pile of clothes on my chair, pulling on his sweatshirt and pajama pants.
"I'm gonna run to my dorm real quick and get a change of clothes. I'll come back after, but do you need anything?" Asks Cameron, sliding into his shoes and gathering his phone and wallet.
"Some coffee please." I respond, watching as Cameron walks back over to me.
Before he leaves, he plants a quick kiss on the corner of my mouth, and then he's off, leaving me to take in all of the happenings from the last twenty four hours.
Last night Cameron and I had a pretty emotional reunion, but what's crazy is... I'm not even that scared. I know the press can be a bitch but with Cameron I feel like none of that matters.
I'm hopeless.
While Cameron's gone, I shuffle around my room. I try to tidy up by making my bed, folding the pile of clean laundry in my laundry basket, and organising my desk. By the time Cameron arrives, I've just finished going over everything that I have to do for the next week of classes and am relieved to find little actual work.
"Whatcha doin?" Questions Cameron, sliding over to me to hand me my coffee.
"Looking at what I have due for this week." I reply, taking a sip of my coffee and then jerking back at how hot it is.
"Lots to do?" Supplies Cameron, taking my cup from my hand and setting it on my desk to cool.
"Nope."
Cameron leans over my chair to look at my calendar and continues, "Same for me. I have a feeling teachers are trying to give us some time to finish up our college apps before winter term starts."
"Yeah." I sigh, as nerves bubble their way into my brain.
Most of the colleges I'm applying to have an early action option, so I've already submitted many of my applications and am now just waiting for December to come around to find out which schools I got into. I have other safety schools, but after my meeting with coach, I'm really hoping to get into NYU.
Cameron shuffles around me, obvious to the nerves swarming through me.
"Come on." He begins, turning my chair towards my door.
"What?" I question, seeking out his mischievous face behind me.
"We're going for a walk," he begins, moving back towards my bed. "And, you're wearing this."
Cameron holds up a "Head of the Schuylkill" sweatshirt from last year's races. He turns it around, showing off the block letters sewn to the top, spelling out his last name. Below his name is a list of all of the participants that competed last year in the most impossible to see font.
"Why?" I question, giggling slightly at Cameron's romantic gesture.
"Because. I'm your boyfriend, and unlike the football team I don't have a plethora of shirts with my name on them, so this one will have to do." He finishes, moving back towards me.
He stops in front of me, ushering me to stand. Hesitantly, I rise from my chair, and in an instance, my precious sweatshirt is flung off of my head and replaced with his.
While he's still standing there, I scrunch up the sleeves and bring them to my face, inhaling the muted saltiness that I have come to associate with Cameron.
"Did you just smell it?" Pipes Cameron, laughing hysterically.
My head turns hot as I muster, "Yeah. You smell good."
"Do I?" Question Cameron in a suave tone.
I straighten my back and shoot him a possessive glare. "Yes. Now let's go!"
"Wow wow wow, hold up miss thing. While I love your little booty shorts, it's a little chilly out, so I'd suggest a pair of pants." Provides Cameron, moving to block the door.
Per his request, I trudge over to my dresser and pull out a pair of gray sweatpants that have a stripe of blue running down the side, complementing Cameron's sweatshirt perfectly.
I notice that Cameron still has his gaze locked onto me, so in mischievous fun, I slowly slide my shorts down my hips and onto the floor, sticking my butt in his direction and adding a slight sway to my hips as I step out of my shorts. I hear him let out a frustrated groan as I quickly slide my sweatpants up my legs, jumping to get them over my hips.
Before we leave I grab my phone and my fob and settle on a pair of moccasins to keep my feet warm.
When I move to open my door, Cameron quickly pulls me into him and whispers into my ear, "You don't have to put on a show for me to see you, but if you have any hopes of leaving this room today, I'd suggest you stop."
When he releases me, my tummy rumbles with excitement, but as he reaches for the door, I know that now is not the time.
