I already grew scared and was about to hide, trembling. I've never seen Nightmare more disappointed in my life. It kinda scared me.
He stared at the necklace before suddenly looking really, really sad. He got up, put Althea on the table since she was playing with some fruit and left the room. "I... I need some time alone...", he muttered.
"Nighty, I-"
"No, Zeph. I need to think about this..."
I glanced over to Hero, who sighed. "He's not happy.", he explained as if it wasn't obvious enough. I sighed weakly and stared at the floor. Red gently patted me on the shoulder, trying to calm me down a bit. "I'm sure he'll understand if you explain what happened.", he tried to cheer me up.
I just nodded weakly and sighed softly, staring at the ground in shame and sadness.
Nightmare didn't come back after he left.

(A few days later)
It's been... Good 6 days now, and Nightmare didn't leave his room at all. I had to sleep on the couch, but I guess I deserve that.
Today however something changed.
The bedroom door unlocked and he came out of it with the necklace in hand. I frowned a bit when I noticed that and got up as he walked up to me. "Heya, Nighty...", I greeted hesitantly. He smiled a bit and hugged me, causing me to freeze. "Hey, Zephy."
I was confused at first, but gladly hugged him back. He snuggled me a bit before sighing. "Sorry that I scared you so much. It's just that... Well, Isa gave it to me a long time ago, and... It's pretty much the only thing reminding me of her. It kinda hurt when you showed me it broke, but...", he said before showing me the necklace. He somehow managed to fix it, and you could still open it. Even if there were some slight marks that it had recently been fixed. I smiled and sighed softly in relief. "Well, I'm glad it's fixed then."
"But we both aren't done yet."
I got nervous again. What does he mean?
"What do you do from now on if you want to put a box somewhere?", he casually asked. I hesitated. "Check the spot beforehand...?"
"No, you'll ask me, Zeph. Seeing as you can't put a damn box onto the right shelf."
I glanced down, sighing weakly. "Fine."
"Good."
We cuddled a bit more so I could calm down a bit. He gently caressed my hair and I kept hidden in his chest. It felt quite comfy, actually, so I stayed like that for a long time. By the time he broke the hug I was already very sleepy, but I kept myself awake and standing.
He brought me to the living room, sitting down on the couch with me on his lap. We cuddled some more there, Althea being next to us. She giggled and looked over from her spot on Jerry's lap, making grabby hands towards us. I chuckled softly at that and waved a bit. She happily laughed and waved too, grinning.
She was such a big girl already. 2 years old and so precious!
Jerry chuckled and softly pulled her closer, causing Althea to snuggle up to her. "Sooo how are you two?", she asked while making sure our little bean doesn't fall off. "We're pretty good, thanks for asking.", Nighty replied, smiling.
"I'm glad you're fine."
"What about you, Jerry?"
"Eh, could be better, but I'm kinda fine as well. Shadow's fine as well, but he's been oddly silent since a while."
I frowned and looked over again. "What do you mean, oddly silent?", I asked. Jerry shrugged. "Well, he doesn't always react to everything I say or ask, nor does he often reply. Something's off.", she explained.
"I'm sure it's nothing to worry about.", Nightmare reassured her. She sighed. "I hope so... Maybe something's just haunting him again.", she mumbled. "Yeah, maybe. But I'm sure with your help he'll get over it again.", I said.
She calmed down a bit and talked with us some more, better now. We had a lot to tell each other after all.
Eventually she decided to ask a question.
"Say, do you mind me going out with Althea and Shadow tonight? I was kinda planning on going to a small park since they'll have a firework show.", she asked. I shrugged. "Sure, why not. Make sure she really does go to sleep when you're back home tho, okay?" She nodded happily and smiled down to the sleeping Althea. "This is gonna be fun.", she whispered. Althea didn't notice anything, snuggling up to her. It was adorable.
Eventually Jerry and the other two got ready and went out. Now the house was very, very quiet, causing me to feel a bit more relaxed than before.
Nighty chuckled softly before getting an idea snd smirking. He easily swooped me up into his arms and we headed into the forest. Deeper and deeper until we arrived at a small clearing, free of everything. The air was nice and warm and no one would be able to hear us.
I looked up to Nighty, confused as hell and snuggling into his shoulder. "What are we doing here, Nighty?", I whispered, too scared to disturb the silence. He chuckled softly and sat down with me on his lap. "Oh, we'll be having fun~", he purred, causing me to blush. "O-Oh, will we now?", I asked. He nodded and sat down with me on his lap. "But this time, I'm taking control~", he mumbled into my ear before nibbling on it. I gasped, loving this already. I wouldn't mind him taking control, but out here? In the forest, just like that?
"Oh, it'll get more fun than us just being out here, Zephy~", he whispered, smirking. "I remembered a few danty spells to do all sorts of things with you~"
I was red like a tomato by now and felt myself heat up. God, he's really gonna do it, huh? Then again, he just gives me a bunch of opportunities to soon ask him.
So I agreed, and he was ready to get to work.
