As soon as Oli spotted me from across the lawn clutching my side, she darted to help me inside asking me all sorts of questions. So I explained what happened well minus the whole reason it happened but either way. There was a bathroom across the hall from the entryway so Oli helped me and opened the door. I was about to slam the door in her face when she stopped it with surprisingly brute strength. She charged in insisting that she help me. I didn't want another reason to think about her all night. Although maybe this was the cure to that. If I longed for her presence then her presence would fix the problem. Yea. That sounds right. She made me sit on the sink since she had a good three inches on me. I took a sharp inhale as she untied my shirt from where it had been snaking around the wound."Sorry. I'll be more gentle." She said putting her perfectly manicured fingers over my rib cage. I'm sure she meant for that to comfort me but it only made me want her out more. She grabbed some gaus and disinfectant from the cupboard. "Ok. This is going to sting. It'll be over in a few seconds okay? Just take some deep breaths with me." She demonstrated said deep breaths. I turned away as she tried to touch my wound."I promise it's gonna be ok. Don't be scared Al." She said in a calm voice. I hadn't winced because I was scared of pain, I winced because I was scared of the chills that her fingers against my bare skin sent through my body. But I didn't tell her that. Of course.
She poured a couple of drops of disinfectant onto a cotton ball and I braced myself squeezing my eyes shut and shifting my weight to the other side of me. I clenched my fist and held it under my chin. She looked up at me with the most pitiful eyes I'd ever seen. I wasn't sure how I felt about it. My head said that I shouldn't pay attention and it wasn't cute or appealing but the butterflies that erupted in my stomach said otherwise. She would make this face where she would scrunch up her nose and purse her lips together when she was cleaning out the gash. I bit my lip to avoid smiling. Sure it hurt, but not as much as it did when she looked at me. It didn't hurt because I didn't want her to look at me, but because I did. I shouldn't but deep down I did...I really did. When she finished disinfecting the cut, she got some wrapping bandages and started to wrap me up. This was the moment I realized I was only In my bra and some sweatpants. My eyes widened at the thought and I felt like I was going to explode in every aspect. When she finished wrapping me up, she looked up at me and smiled her beautiful wide smile. My heart rate continued to increase every time she looked at me. "You look really red..did something else happen?" she asked urgently. My breath hitched in my throat and I clenched my jaw. Closing my eyes so tight it hurt. "N-no I'm fine."I somehow responded. She nodded. She grabbed my hands and helped me down from the sink. I continued to look at the floor as she led me up to my bedroom. I sat on my bed as she pulled a folding chair out in front of me. "Hey."She said. I looked as far away as I possibly could. That is until I felt 2 long fingers on the side of my chin. She gently directed my eyes to meet hers and I wanted to explode."Why were you in the junkyard?"She asked in a calm voice. I glanced to look at where her hand had rested on my knee and blushed."U-uh I was just looking f-for parts.."I lied. I'm a bad liar. I always have been and now she knew that."Al. Tell me why you were really there."
