Tell me you love me (a klance fanfic)

Chapter 8: a helping hand

Keith sat against the side of his pod, his eyes closed and his breathing becoming even as he calmed down. He was safe here, he recognised this place though he wasn't completely sure where he was.

Keith began to think, deadset on remembering everything. He started with where he was, it was the room with healing pods, on the castle of... he couldn't quite remember, L..Lion? Lions! The castle of lions! And he was the pilot of a lion, he was sure of it, the red one!

He tried to remember more and succeeded, remembering the lions, the ship, the Galra... his journey in space,  his origins and shiro.. but everything else was kind of fuzzy, he was only able to collect bits and pieces of everything else. He grasped who he was now, remembering his past and such, but he still didn't remember who else piloted the other lions, other than shiro there was his lion, the green one who was piloted by a smart, short girl.. (a/n: she's canonically female but any pronouns work-) and there was a boy great at cooking... but that was it.

As time passed his mind began to ache, but he continued collecting up his memories and trying to piece himself back together. But no matter what he did, he couldn't remember one person.. it was strange because he felt like they were very important, and that he didn't want himself to remember because something bad would happen..?

Keith shook his head, which made his world spin but also cleared his mind a little. He lay his head back on the cool metal pod and closed his eyes, wishing only to lie down and sleep somewhere comfy... he felt himself begin to drift into a light sleep as he thought about nothing at all.

"Hunk, can you go get Lance, I think he's been knocked out.." Shiro said worriedly, trying to hide the nervousness from his voice. Hunk nodded, not that Shiro saw that and he went and began dragging Lance's lion through space until they entered the hangar.

"Ugh I really hope Keith wakes up soon.. this isn't good for him.." Hunk said with a sigh once Shiro and Pidge were standing next to Lance who was out of his lion in Hunk's arms.

"Yea.. I'm worried about him, he's never acted this way before, it's so u like him and it's.. it's kind of scary..." Pidge agreed, frowning as she thought of what she could do to help.

"Let's just give him time, after Keith wakes up I'm sure he'll be back to himself, if not we'll have to talk to him.." Shiro replied, glancing at Lance and the other paladins, giving them reassuring looks.

"You're right, let's go check on Keith, we were away a while," Pidge said after a moment and headed for the pods.

"I'll meet you guys there, I'm gonna put Lance in his room," Hunk said before carrying Lance away. Shiro nodded and followed behind Pidge, giving a last glance at Lance.

Shiro was beginning to think Lance felt the same way, after Keith explained his feeling about Lance, he'd been secretly keeping an eye on them both to see if anything went wrong, he did say he would always be there for Keith and he planned on keeping it that way. Lance hadn't really shown any signs of reciprocating Keith's feeling until they found the two kidnapped on a Galra ship, seeing Keith in that much pain much have made Lance realise his feelings...

Once the other paladins save the two, Lance never let go of Keith until putting him in the pod, it was a heartwarming sight other than the fact that Keith nearly died, Shiro never forgot the look on Lance's face as he held Keith. He wasn't quite sure whether Lance knew it or not but he totally like Keith back, Shiro wanted to help them get together, because he knew them, they would never make a move on each other and they would probably take their feelings to their graves if no one did anything.

Shiro wouldn't let that happen, he did promise Keith he wouldn't tell anyone so he'll have to figure out how to help alone. He didn't want to push them though so he'd have to do it subtly...
