Chapter eighteen

Third POV~

Gaara stood at the end of the entrance to the arena and waited there till it was time to go, still feeling the anger from the meeting with endeavour he had to hold onto his control on shukaku, after all these years he had grown a bond of sorts with shukaku but it never got rid of his bloodlust and need to break free

shukaku feeds off of his strong emotions that don't involve positive ones, but unfortunately, Gaara doesn't feel all too many positive emotions, Gaara has such good control over shukaku because he simply doesn't feel anything

yet now his anger is over the limit then he would like, all he can hope is that shukaku won't act out of line right now but only time will tell

"here's our next match! two hero course students and strong ones at that people!!" Gaara and Denki showed up on the screen which made the crowd cheer, Gaara seems like a crowd favourite right now yet he has no clue why

on the left side of the screen was Denki with his idiotic smile on his face as he looked quite confident but Gaara will wipe that look on his face off, on the right side of the screen was Gaara's cold look on his face, he had his arms crossed as he looked into the camera

"here comes the electric and handsome Denki kaminari!" Gaara almost made a face at the introduction 'he paid him to say that didn't he,' Gaara thought as he watched Denki walk out and wave at the crowd with that same confident look, how annoying

"and now the person everyone is so excited for! Gaara!!" said boy made his way out of the hall and out onto the field, he swore he heard a girl scream from behind him from the stands, looking behind him he made eye contact from the girl in question

seeing how the sand user was looking at her made her blush a bright red, she frantically waved hoping for a response but got none, Gaara turned back forward with an annoyed look on his face 'disgusting' 

"he's handsome but terrifying! yeahhh!!" present mic yelled, Gaara sighed as he isn't as handsome as people say, why does he have to bring that up? he could care less about the comment about him being terrifying 

standing a good few feet from Denki he stared into the electric boys eyes intensely that made the boy look away awkwardly, Gaara leaned his head back ever so slightly while also tilting his head to the side, staring down at Denki for a few moments before looking off to the sides

he waited for the okay to start and when he did he wasted no time to make his sand wrap around him and lift him high into the air, being caught off guard Denki had no time to make his attack stronger

the electricity barely missed where Gaara levitated in the air, once he knew that it was okay to go back down he did so and walked up to Denki slowly and stood before him, the yellow-haired boy held his thumbs up and did a little motion with them while letting out odd sounds 

with no words his sand wrapped around the boy and pushed him aggressively past the boundary "Denki kaminari is out of bounds! Gaara goes into the next rounds" midnight snaps her whip as she declares Gaara the winner 

turning around Gaara walked back into the hallway and to the seats where the rest of his class is, that was quite boring honestly but Gaara does not want to waste his quirk on a match and ignore his plan and possibly lose

if he weren't to move into the air and got hit with the electricity his sand would not work against Denki nor would he be able to move, who cares if people found it bring after all it's about winning and not entertainment

once he made it back to the seats he quietly sat down and stared forward "good job on your match gaara it was a smart plan" momo came up to him "mhm" was all he said hoping she would leave him alone but she kept talking anyway but he ignored her
