Chapter twenty-two

third pov~

bakugou and tokoyami's match is first, once again Gaara didn't bother to watch as he knew bakugou would win as tokoyami's weakness is light and as he said earlier on bakugou is a bad match for him

but as of now, Gaara is about to go up against todoroki and to be quite honest he doesn't have much of a plan but he will go with the flow and hope he will win the match, it's not like Gaara isn't confident that he won't win but you can't get overconfident in yourself all the time

"get ready yall! the next match the will tell us the two last competitors! todoroki shoto and Gaara!" present mic said and at the same time both todoroki and Gaara walked out that made the crowd cheer, Gaara calmly looked at the dual haired boy who looked right back at him but with a stern and determined look in his eyes

'does he hold a grudge against me from out one match? how immature' Gaara held the urge to roll his eyes but instead did it mentally, todoroki, on the other hand, had some thoughts himself 'i will defeat him this time and I'll make sure it doesn't end like our last match, and ill be sure to win'

getting to their respective spots they stopped in their tracks and stood still as they waited for the command to start "start!" midnight shouted, a wave of ice came Gaara's way quickly in which he responded with his sand shaping into a cone-like shape at a 90-degree angle

the hard sand went straight through the ice which sent ice shards everywhere and if not for his sand he would have been cut by the incoming ice, todoroki clicked his tongue and sent more ice his way but every time Gaara would destroy his sand or avoid it altogether

"you can not merely defeat me with just your ice, why not use your fire" Gaara spoke softly as if he wasn't pushing the half-hot half-cold quirk user, well todoroki thought he was trying to agitate him but Gaara was merely stating a fact as he should know that too

"I will not! I won't give in to my old man's wishes!" todoroki's face scrunched up in anger but Gaara kept his calm look "ho was midoriya's match any different then" but really why? what's so different but Gaara won't do all that inspiring words just so he will listen as it isn't his thing

todoroki didn't respond to gaaras question but kept attacking him but all of it failed "you resent your father don't you" Gaara stared right at him unmoving as the sand stopped all attacks "that's none of your business! you'll never understand" the oy yelled

"I can guarantee I will but I won't say I care about your daddy issues" gaaras words angered todoroki and a wave of ice came at him that looked just as big as the one he sent at sero, Gaara gathered sand and made just a big wave of sand as the ice or even bigger "you're still inferior to me todoroki"

the sand came down at the ice and crushed it effortlessly and soon the ice was all gone "you don't know anything Gaara! you're strong! you have people around you who want you and you probably have a loving family at home cheering for you! you cant understand how I feel!!"

gaaras lip twitched downwards more and almost turned into a scowl at his words

a younger Gaara watched Temari and kankuro from a distance as they sat in the living room whispering, about what Gaara didn't know, he slowly walked up to them silently "Temari..kankuro?" he spoke softly as he watched them um and flinch at the sound of his voice

they whipped around and stared t him in fear, Gaara stepped back at the looks in their eyes 'why...why are they looking at me like that' Temari was first to speak up "G-Gaara!" her voice shook but gaara had no clue why

Gaara tried to take a step towards them ut kankuro stepped n front of Temari "N-No! don't come any closer!" he yelled which startled Gaara and he took a few steps back, kankuro had never yelled at him like that... what did he do wrong..?

"just leave Gaara! go!' kankuro glared but a hint of fear was in his eyes, hurt filled Gaara's eyes but he gave them a sad glance and walked away, when he was out of their sites he hid behind a wall and listened to what they were talking about

"why do we have to live in the same house as him..." Temari's voice was heard Gaara was confused by her statement "how do we know he won't kill us?" kankuro's voice then was heard, Gaara started to the ground with wide eyes

'kill them?...' he felt so hurt and betrayed that he couldn't wrap his head around what was happening, he spaced out from their conversation but what he heard b=next stuck with him for all his life

"he's no brother of mine"

Gaara angrily glared at the dual-haired boy "you don't know anything!!!" his voice was heard through most of the stadium but they had no clue bout what they were talking about "you went past the line...todoroki"

"now I will have to get serious with you"

haven't updated in a bit sorry, you're all lucky I'm able to type and come up with ideas fast cause this took me under 30 minutes, given been busy with school and maintaining a social life with friends and going to hockey practices and such, I hope you all are well
