chapter 6

*Florence pov*

It's been 3 weeks since the choosing. Ron was still mad at harry. I mean they both were being so immature. I was so done trying to take care of them both, me and hermione have been switching between them trying to get them to talk to each other. Nothing worked they still haven't talked to each other.

The first task was in 2 days. I was nervous. For harry of course, why would I be nervous for anything else. I mean he was my best friend and I cared about him so much I didn't want him to get hurt.

Yesterday we told harry what the first task was... Dragons. Yup dragons, I mean what was going through dumbledore's head. Someone could seriously get hurt. They were just teenagers. Harry was 14, and cedric was 17. They all could get hurt. They don't know how to fight a dragon, unless they do it for a hobby.

*Time skip to day of first task*

Today was the day of the first task. Me, hermione, and ron we're making our way to the stands. When we got there Fred and George were there.
"Place your bets people" "which champion will win". I rolled my eyes as a smiled grew on my face. "Hey I'm going to go see Harry" said hermione.
"Uh I'll come with you" I said as I got up to go with hermione. I wanted to make sure harry was ok and other people like fleur.

"Harry's this way" "I'll meet you there I'm going go see something". I walked to the other opening of the tent. As soon as I walked in I was consumed by medical supplies and multiple people running around. "Um excuse me do you know where Cedric diggory's tent is?" "Yeah you take one right go straight and he should be on your first flap to the left" "thank you".
I walked to the directions she gave me and found his tent. "Cedric are you in there?" I walked in the tent and no one was there. "Hello, diggory you here" "Jones, is that you?". He walked out shirtless. He had abs like a god. He looked so good, my god. He was nicely toned and looked so handsome.

"Got a staring problem Jones?" "Uh what, sorry I just wanted to come see you before the task starts" "well thank you I've been needing a distraction"
"So how are you feeling" "honestly, not great I'm nervous I've never done something like this before, I don't even know why I entered this stupid tournament" "you entered this tournament to make your dad proud"
"But I could die in this tournament, I could get seriously her I have no training I mean how am I supposed to get through this whole tournament if I don't even know what the tasks are".

Without thinking I launched myself at him gave him a giant hug. He immediately hugged back. Resting his head in the crook of my neck.

*Cedric pov*

"I mean how am I supposed to get through this whole tournament if I don't even know what the tasks are". Florence launched herself at me giving me a giant hug. I was surprised but immediately hugged her back. Resting my head in the crook of her neck. I could smell her perfume, it smelled so good. Like honey and vanilla. It felt so good hugging her, I never wanted it to end.

But sadly it did quicker than I would have liked. When we pulled away we made eye contact. The only thing I could think about was wanting to kiss her. Her lips look so soft. My eyes flickered from her face to her lips.

*Florence's pov*

As we pulled away we made eye contact. The feeling I felt the night he got picked came back. Butterflies erupted in my stomach. I have never felt this way before not for anyone. God I wanted to kiss him so bad, but I couldn't. I cleared my throat and stepped away from him. Removing my arms from his neck and making his hands drop from my waist. "Uh good luck diggory, you'll do great" "yeah thanks". And with that I walked out of the tent back to the stands.

Just then the Canon went off and Cedric stepped onto the arena. My heart dropped, how come he had to go first. That was the one thing I was hoping not to happen. He walked to a rock and hit behind it. I didn't know what he was planning to do but I hope it would be good. Just then he ran to another rock making dragon spit fire at the way he came. He then turned a rock into a Golden retriever. Catching the dragon's attention and making it turn and run after the dog. When he saw it was clear he ran to the egg. He had done it. He had gotten the egg. As people started to cheer the dragon lost interest in the dog and saw Cedric with the egg. He spit fire at him and it burnt half of Cedric's face. When Cedric finally got off the arena I left and ran towards the tent.

As I got in the tent I saw Madame pomfrey attending to his Burns. She was putting a orange substance on the half of his face that got burned. I walked over and sat down next to him. "Is he gonna be ok?" "He'll be fine, he just has to wait a couple minutes until he washes off the rub".
Just then Fleur came in with Burns all over her hands. " Oh dear, will you finish applying this rub to Mr. Diggory's face while I go attend to miss Delacor?" "Yeah sure". And with that madam pomfrey left to go help Fleur.

I got up and went in front of Cedric.
Standing in between his legs. I put some rub on my finger and started to apply it to his face. He flinched when I first touched him. "Oh sorry did I press too hard?" "No it's just kind of cold" "sorry" "its not your fault". I started applying more making sure I got every burn. "So how bad was I?"
"You were great" "oh come on Jones you don't have to lie to me" "I'm serious, you were amazing" I said while laughing. "Yeah" "yeah". We both were smiling as we stayed there for a moment. The moment was cut short when Victor Crum walked in almost untouched but a couple burns.
I took a wet rag and wiped off the rub. He looked the same as handsome as ever. I place the wet rag down and moved myself from him.

"There you go, you should be all better" I said as I rubbed my thumb across his Cheek. " Well I should go harry will be on any minute, I want to go cheer him on" "yeah okay, uh thanks" "your welcome". I started to walk out of the tent back to the stands.

"Where have you been, you've been gone for almost the whole tournament" "I was helping madam pomfrey with some of the patients"
"Oh ok well here comes harry".

*Time skip to end of tournament*

In the end Harry got the egg. After the dragon broke loose. It was a long ride but it still was fun.

Ron and Harry made up in the end, finally. That night I laid in my bed thinking about all the events from today. The only thing that mattered was that Harry was safe.
