She didn't feel like waking up, to tell you the truth. After what happened, she really wanted to stay asleep forever so she could avoid any type of pain. But unfortunately, her eyes forced themselves open and as she thought, pain was the first and only thing she felt. Her entire body felt like it was on fire, scorching hot fire. Her vision blurred from the bright light above her head and her ears rung.

Once she was able to fully open her eyes without feeling like she would go blind, all she did was stare at the plain white ceiling which was the only thing in her vision. She thought her physical pain would at least make her forget about what happened, but that wasn't the case. Images of Himari's lifeless dull eyes wormed their way back into her mind, reminding her of the act she failed to complete.

'Protect her.' That was all she had to do, yet she failed, and it cost Himari her life. Kira sucked in a breath as her eyes suddenly felt humid and stingy. She tried to raise her hand to wipe the tears that were threatening to fall but noticed how she was attached to advanced machinery that monitored her heartbeat. Only then did she realise where she was. The hospital. How did she get here? Did someone manage to bring her here? Or did she come here herself? Kira pondered over the multiple possibilities and immediately crossed out the last one as an actual option.

With the state she was in, there's no way she could've actually walked over to the hospital by herself, so someone must've brought her in. Groaning as she tried to sit up, Kira almost immediately plopped back down when she felt the most painful headache she'd ever felt in her entire life. Just as her head was about to hit the pillow again, a hand reached behind her head to steady her. Kira could make out the silhouette of a female, sitting right beside her hospital bed and now leaning over to support Kira's head.

"You're finally awake, huh kid?" spoke a vaguely familiar voice. Kira tried to respond but since her sense of reality was almost none existent, all that came out were sounds of confusion. The woman helped Kira sit up straight, leaning her back against the pillow that was positioned behind her. The woman temporarily left, making Kira wonder if she was just hallucinating, but soon enough, she returned with what seemed to be a glass of water. "Here. Drink up, you obviously need it."

Kira nodded, though unable to hold the glass with her own hands. The woman noticed this and helped Kira by bringing the glass towards her lips. The glass felt cold against her skin, but the touch actually made Kira a bit more aware of her surroundings. Her vision cleared and her throat didn't feel so sore anymore as she felt the fresh liquid seep down her throat. Once the glass was empty, the woman stood up to place the glass on a table before turning towards Kira again, allowing Kira to finally take a look at her features.

"M-Mirko?" grunted Kira. Speaking seemed a bit difficult for her. Mirko smiled at her intern before walking back towards her previous seat. "How're you feeling?" asked the pro as she reached for Kira's hand. "Shitty", was all Kira responded as she looked back down at the covers. "What... happened?" spoke the teenager again, her voice growing stronger with each sentence. Mirko sighed as she rubbed her thumb over Kira's knuckles, trying to find a proper way to tell her this news.

"Do you remember anything? About Hosu?" Kira grimaced at the memories she received, feeling sick to her stomach as soon as the city's name was spoken out loud. She could only nod in confirmation, never taking her gaze off the covers. "That was four days ago." Kira's head bopped up to look at the hero next to her, shock evident in her tired eyes. "I've been asleep... for four days?" Mirko nodded as she pressed her lips together, a solemn look taking over her features. "Yeah, you gave everyone a scare. Especially this kid with hair that looked like broccoli. Gosh, that guy was something else."

Kira's heart skipped a single beat at the mention of Midoriya. "Izuku? He was here?" asked Kira, a tiny sprinkle of hope visible in her eyes. Mirko grinned and nodded. "Yep! It was a hassle to get him away though, he was really worried about you, so we're gonna have to let him know that you're awake." Kira cleared her throat before nodding, not finding it in herself to smile anymore and Mirko noticed. The pro sighed as she stood up and released Kira's hand. The latter followed her mentor's movements, noticing how her smile never really left.
