Chapter 6

'My cousin?' Qiling though and he inclined his head to one side as he observed the man who was smiling at him. He was kind looking with a youthful face, a trait of the Zhang family. His hair was shoulder length and black and he was a few cm taller then him.

The man laughed and he shook his head. "Don't worry. I expected for you to not remember me. After all we only spent little time when we were children and after the accident it's only normal to not remember. And yeah. I know about it", Haike said when he saw the confused look on Qiling face. "I actually planned on coming to see you and Rishan earlier. But I was to busy with my family business and I only find time now to come. You know how is it."

No. Qiling definitely doesn't know how is it. Especially since he was never been interested in it, only his brother. So he doesn't." Alright. Well nice to meet you again "Qiling said and he was about to walk away once more before Haike grabbed his arm.

" Wait. Let's go together. I was about to go to your house anyway "

" I'm not living there anymore ", he said and he looked at the hand holding his wrist. When Haike saw that he let go with an apologetic smile.

"Why not?"

"Had an argument with my brother weeks ago"

"Oh" Haike was surprised. Qiling and Rishan had always been close when they were younger. They were practically inseparable. No force on Earth could have split them.
"If that is the case where did you stayed all this time."

"At a hotel" he said not wanting to tell him the truth. Plus he was about to go to one anyway.

Haike eyes widened and he shook his head. "That's horrible. I don't know how hotels are here but I stayed in enough in my business travel to know that even the five star ones have issues. I was planning to stay here for a while. So I rented a penthouse apartment. It's big enough and I'm lonely. You can stay with me until you and your brother made up "

This time it's was Qiling who was surprised by the offer. It may be his cousin. But considering that they only saw each other a couple of times when little he figured that they aren't close.

" Come one. I promise that I'm not a shabby person and you would be safe with me."

Qiling considered the idea for a couple of minutes before he nodded and he walked togheter with the man who was pretty happy that his little cousin aggred to stay with him. Another thing that he had learned about him from his short meeting. Apparently Zhang Haike is very touchy, taking in consideration the arm around his shoulders, warm and happy person.

"So that's explain everything" Pangzi said as he watched the footage that Rishan had gave Wu Xie. "So you say that you don't remember about this?"

"Not really. What about you. You are the one who usually aprobed my mission and checked them before handing them to me."

Pangzi nodded. "I do. I remember that it had come from an anonymous person. You were supposed to escort the family from shadow and pay attention to the danger. I guess that whomever sent the mission they knew that Zhang family would have been pursued when leaving"

So it's was an escort mission and he had even failed that one? Pathetic.

"Don't be harsh on you" Pangzi said as he patted Wu Xie shoulder. "From the report you didn't expected that another car would come from nowhere and collide with the Zhangs one."

"The driver from that car....?"

"If he was a Wang. Yes he was. Apparently considering that the pursuers were lost and the motorcycle dude was killed, he figured that there wasn't another option and he did that"

Wu Xie nodded and he closed the laptop before he pulled out his phone and tried to call Qiling. He was worried about him. Pangzi had assured him that he was probably distraught and he wanted to clear his mind. But still.

"We are here. Home sweet home" Haike said as he closed the door after them.
"You can go and shower, I can see that you are a bit distraught. And I will make some food"

"I didn't bring any of my clothes though"

"Don't worry about it. I will gave you some of mine." Haike said and for the first time that day he saw the cast on the boy wrist. "What happened with your wrist"

"Had an accident. It's nothing bad. Just sparianed and I will be able to take the cast off in a couple of weeks."

"The color is cute tough" Haike said and he chuckled as he saw his little cousin blushing embarrassed. He ruffled the boy hair before he show him the way to the bathroom.

A couple of minutes later after he gave Qiling some of his clothes and left the bathroom he heard his cousin phone, that he left on the coffe table, ringing.

Haike grabbed the phone and he saw a person called Wu Xie calling him.
"Hello"

Wu Xie was greatfull when his call was answered but he froze at the unknown voice. Pangzi made a sign and he put the call on speaker.

"Hello" was heard again.

"Who are you?" Wu Xie asked menacingly.

"I should ask you the same question. Who are you to dare to call this number and speak so menacingly?"

"Its not your business."

"If it's not my business then I will hang out."

"Listen here you assholes. If you don't tell me who you are I will find you and make you regret for even bothering to touch the owner of this phone"
Wu Xie threatened but his threat was ignored and the person ended the call.

"Do you know someone named Wu Xie?" Haike asked a while later after his little cousin walked from the bathroom. And he frowned as he saw him  tense after he heard that name.

"No"

"Ahh. Alright" Haike said with a smile. He didn't bothered to pry even more because he knew that it's was making Qiling uncomfortable. If he wants to tell him something. He will. But for now he was only a stranger in his little cousin eyes. "The dinner is almost ready" he said with a smile and he was happy to see Qiling smiling a little at him too.
