seventeen; eventually

Luke took me to my house in my motorcycle.

No, nothing happened.

No, we didn't speak the whole way.

Yes, I still enjoyed it.

"I should get a motorcycle." He mused once we parked. "One day I wanna leave. I don't want to say anything to anyone or anything. Just leave this shit place, travel the world, or something. We're only young once, you know."

"But... What do you mean you're going to leave?" I asked, feeling my heart drop.

"Not now, just... eventually."

"I don't want you to leave, Luke." I spoke before thinking what I was actually saying.

My heart began pounding rapidly. I felt weak in the knees.

"I-I have to, Avery. I don't want to live here anymore." He explained.

"You can't be serious. You're kidding me, right?"

"No, I'm Luke." He scoffed.

"Luke, I'm not kidding around."

"I know you're not. You're Avery."

"Luke!"

"Alright, fine. I just wanted to avoid the conversation."

"Yeah, well, good job. I just don't get it. You have everything. You live in a mansion, for God's sake, why do you-"

"That doesn't make any difference. I feel alone, Avery."
