"Well, maybe you don't know him like I know him." I replied, and Matt just shook his head chuckling.
I rolled my eyes.
Matt raised his eyebrows. "Don't say I didn't warn you."
He walked up to Liv, wrapping his hands around her waist.
Luke held my hand and pulled me back slightly.
"I have to go, beautiful." Matt told Liv softly, kissing her deeply.
"Woah," I chuckled, trying to ease Luke's mood.
It wasn't working.
"Byebye," Liv blushed as Matt left the hospital.
There was a moment of silence before Luke spoke up. "I'm going to find towels."
I walked up to Liv immediately. "What just happened? I need an explanation, please."
"He kissed me!" Liv squealed, turning rosy red and massaging her cheeks.
"No, not that," I told her, "But gosh darn it, Liv, even I don't kiss Luke like that!"
"I know, right! He's such a great kisser, too."
"Okay, we're getting off topic here. What happened?" I asked.
Liv gulped. "Well, Alexis told me to 'come to the hospital, Livvy, it's a party,' so I came with Matt. I had no idea Luke would be here."
"Why wouldn't he?" I snapped, a bit too defensive, before realizing my behavior. "Oh, oops. Sorry, the tension between the dudes got to me."
"Well, Matt and Luke have a, uhm, a history... I think Luke should tell you."
I sighed. "As much as I love Luke, Liv, I don't get my sources from biased people."
"Alright." Liv agreed. "But don't tell anyone."
"Hold up, this is going on Instagram." I took out my phone sarcastically.
"Avery, gosh darn it." Liv laughed.
"YES!" I gasped.
Liv and I high fived at the same time. "GOSH DARN IT!"
We burst out laughing.
People were frowning at us.
"Okay, anyways, and sue me for getting off topic," I said, still chuckling, "What's the dealio?"
"Well, one time Luke started driving with Matt, since they were like, best friends, and then he crashed the car because he was like, drunk or something. Then he ran out and left Matt in trouble with the cops. He had to go to Juvie."
"What?" I gasped.
"Yeah, well, to get revenge, Matt revealed Luke was lying."
"Lying about what?" I asked.
"His family..."
"Oh." I frowned.
Which one of the two incidents is worse? Eenie, meenie, minie, moe...
"That's what Matt told me. And, well, Luke and him got in a big fight in the back of their school, and then Matt decided to move out to a more 'stress-free' place. He came back now, and, well, we met."
"Gosh darn it." I whispered, thinking about the situation. "Shizz just got complicated."
Luke came back with towels.
