"I probably won't be able to visit the Leaf Village again until everything is running back smoothly again." Kaito sighed, "I hope you visit soon. The both of you."Sonata nodded her head, "You're my friend. I will definitely visit you as soon as I can again." She smiled. "I love your presence, Kaito. You make a great leader."
He gave her a bright smile back. "And you too."
"I'm still here." Shikamaru shook his head. "How dreadful."
"I don't know what that is supposed to mean but let's get going. I want to arrive back at the Village when the sun is still out." Sonata adjusted her bag on shoulder, She smiled at Kaito once more. "I will write to you soon as I get home. See you soon."
"I'm surprised the guy didn't ask you to marry him to get you to stay." Shikamaru started speaking after a few minutes of silence between them while walking. "His crush was obvious."
Sonata let out a low hum. "Is that so? If long distant relationships were my thing, I probably would've dated him. He's a charming guy."
Shikamaru side eyed her as he said, "Ah. Long distance would be the only reason?"
She shrugged, feeling his eyes on her. "I don't think about relationships nowadays, if I'm being honest."
"How was your training with your father?" Shikamaru switch the subject. "How was meeting your father?"
"He was not father like at all." Sonata replied, "Not what I imagined a father to be." Her mind flashed to Nagato but she quickly shook it away. "He wasn't mean but he wasn't you know... what I was searching for. Though he was great at training. I learned a lot while I was away. I can transform at will now and I don't lose my human emotions as I get angry anymore."
"Is that so? You'll be less scary now." Shikamaru mumbled. "Thank god."
"I heard that." She rolled her eyes. "So I heard you were trying to make a baby." She wiggled her eyebrows in his direction.
"Temari wants a baby to grow with the others babies." He replied. "It's a work in progress."
"Do you want a boy or girl?"
"Hmmmm." He thought about it. "Honestly. It doesn't matter to me. As long as my mom get her a grandkid."
"That is such a Shikamaru thing to say." Sonata laughed. "I want a son. If I had to choose, I would want a little boy with pretty blue eyes and—."
"Blue eyes, huh?" Shikamaru raised an eyebrow up. "But you have ember eyes."
Sonata grew silent at that. Why did she have to say blue eyes out of all colors? "I guess you're right." She replied, her voice low.
That subject dropped and it grew quiet between them as they continued to the village. They had light conversation every now and then on their journey back.
Shikamaru went to the Hokage to let him know about the mission, he told Sonata she didn't have to join.
She went to the dango shop since she was craving something sweet. She ordered her food and decided to sit down and eat them there. She walked past someone that looked really familiar. She tried to rack her mind to remember as she sat down.
It didn't seem she had to think too hard because the woman approached her after a few minutes. Her eyes widened as she remembered the brown haired woman, it was Tamaki. The one that Kiba had the hots for before she left to train. The one he was dating when he kissed her..
"Sonata! Kiba said you were back. I can't believe you got a mission after only a few weeks of being back." She spoke. Her eyes shining with friendliness. "Is it okay if I sit here with you?"
