After her talk with Kurama, he explained who she was by blood but she still felt empty. She was yanked out of her thought as she felt a chakra disappear. She covered her mouth as she felt many other chakras reappear. "Nagato.." she sobbed. She shouldn't be crying for him, but she could only think of the good memories they've had, even if he had only used and manipulated her.
Her eyes followed Naruto as he left out the cave. A tired and devastated look was on his face. She felt invisible as he walked past her, in his own thoughts.
"Naruto. Are you ok?" She asked, as she stood up. Using the tree as balance. Her head was hurting tremendously, as she slowly followed behind him, holding on to passing trees to keep from swaying. "I'm sorry for—." She tried to say, but he held out his hand.
He needed time to think. "I'm sorry you had to go through so much, I'm not angry at you. I can never be, but I need time to process everything."
Sonata's eyes blurred with tears. He couldn't look at her. He said that he would always believe in her and be by her side. She knew she unintentionally hurt him, but she needed him right now as well. He was the only person she could trust as of now and the only one she wanted to be around.
"I... I understand." She whispered. But she didn't. She just wanted to disappear.
"Ahhh there you are."
Kakashi appeared in front of Naruto. "You look exhausted." He stated.
Naruto tiredly smiled. "I am." He replied, letting the exhaustion take over and he fell onto Kakashi's waiting back. "Thanks Kakashi sensei."
Sonata watched the interaction and for the first time, she felt as if she didn't belong there. She started to step back when Kakashi glanced behind him at her. "Akamaru is on his way." He said. "He should've been here before me, actually. How did I beat a dog?"
Right after he asked, Akamaru shot through the trees with Kiba on his back. "Sorry for the wait, Akamaru had an emergency." Kiba said, scowling at the dog.
Kiba frowned at Sonata's disheveled shape. She looked so fragile. He hopped off of Akamaru's back, and helped Sonata get on Akamaru. "Walk slow Akamaru." He said. "Are you ok Sonata?"
"Um.." She wasn't sure how to answer. "I'm not sure."
"None of us look at you as a traitor. We know you weren't working with the Akatsuki. You may have been sent to the village to get close to Naruto but it's clear that you didn't know what was actually going. We trust you." Kiba said, knowing she needed to hear this.
Her head turned to look directly at him. Her eyes filled with tears. "I still belong in the leaf village?" She questioned.
"You always will." Kiba smiled.
Sonata finally broke down into tears. All the tears she had been holding back from everything that had happened. Kiba made Akamaru stop from going any further as he could hear cheering coming from ahead, and people chanting Naruto's name. "Thank you Kiba." She cried.
"It's okay you can cry. You've been through a lot. We all heard everything that was going on during Pein attack on the village. Everyone wanted to rush in to stand by you, but Lady Tsunade told us not to. She rushed in for us, she was heated from hearing what Pein had said. And Naruto, he will come around. He's just confused right now. Give him a little time." Kiba explained.
