Pony led me down the stairs, still with a firm grasp on my hand. We walked into the living room and didn't even bother hiding or letting go of our hands. I think Steve was the first one to notice.
"Hey Pony?" Johnny asked.
"What's up?" Pony responded.
"What's with this?" He said, eyeing our hands.
I guess I was wrong. Johnny saw it first. When Steve and Two-Bit saw, they squealed like little girls. It was the funniest thing I have ever seen/heard.
Soda nudged Darry and Darry looked up. He made eye contact with Pony and then looked down to our hands. He just smiled and nodded.
Soda was the only one that stood up out of all of them. He whispered something in Ponyboy's ear and patted his shoulder. I'm thinking it was something a touch dirty. Pony's face instantly turned red.
Then Dally. He came through the back door from taking a smoke. I heard him stomp through the kitchen and then he soon got to the door way.
I pulled Pony to the side from where he couldn't see us. I looked at Darry and he just shook his head. That head shake was a nonverbal way of saying "he's gunna find out one way or another". That scared me.Dally walked into the living room. He looked around and saw me and pony standing next to a wall. He walked to the front of us and looked at our intertwined fingers. His face grew colder than it usually was.
"Damnit! What the hell is this shit?!" He yelled. I jumped, remembering that when Dad yelled, he'd hit us.
I started shaking profusely."I-I'm sorry D-Dally." I shook.
"I didn't mean to scare ya, kid."
"It's alright. But, um, Pony and I are dating." I said nervously.
"Pony, man. If you hurt my kid sister, I'll snap your neck, man."
Pony just nodded aggressively."Now c'mon Dal! Don't be so hard on em!" Steve stuck up.
He winked at me and Pony grabbed my waist. Steve gave him a look and he let go. The guys had a conversation. Then Darry and Dallas went outside. That made me nervous.
That night, Dallas and I spent the night at the Curtis house and it was nice. Soda slept in his own room and I slept with Pony. All we did was cuddle and sleep! Nothing more, don't be like Dally. Geez!
I woke up to a "what the hell" from Dallas and a few "awwww's" from the guys. I also heard a smacking noise coming from where the comments were.
I slowly opened my eyes and I saw the gang staring at Pony and I. Then I realized that he had his head buried into my back and his arms wrapped around my waist.
I laid my head back down onto the pillow and shut my eyes. Pony stirred and I felt his head lift and his left arm lift and then be set back down. I think he was trying to get the guys to go away.
I rolled over and snuggled into Pony's chest. He adjusted so it was more comfortable for him. I looked up and our eyes met. Then he kissed me. It was a soft, slow, gentle morning kiss. I joined into the kiss. Then we pulled away.
"Good morning, beautiful."
"Morning, handsome!" I pecked his lips.
We then got up and I grabbed my clothes from yesterday and changed back into them in the bathroom. Pony gave me sweatpants and a tshirt to sleep in. I ended up stealing them from him.
I went downstairs and saw Dally smiling. It wasn't sarcastic or cold but genuine. We all sat down and ate our breakfast and had a good conversation. The rest of that day was pretty... interesting?
