XAVIER'S POV
Wednesday two days earlier

I walked out of the Dean's office, warning letter in hand and I knew I was screwed.

Its now evening and im on my way back to my dorm room. I didn't really charge my phone last night so it died on me in the morning. I spent the whole day carrying around a dead phone, probably not the best idea.

I reached my room and it was still locked. My roommate Mason wasn't back yet so I reached behind to get the keys from my bag. It was quite a far reach and the letter dropped. Stupid thing. I just took my bag off and dropped it to the floor to get the keys instead. When I finally got the door open, I just went in, dropped my bag in a chair and fell on my bed. Mentally, I was exhausted and I couldn't wait to be done with the day. As I lay on the bed, my vision went blurry and I couldn't tell if it was from the fatigue or from tears in my eyes.

I chose to stay there for a quick second, I didn't want to get up. Little did I know, I was falling asleep. My eyelids felt heavy and slowly I was letting the fatigue take over. As everything continued to become blurry and most of my senses shutting down, I could still see the door as it flew wide open.

Mason walked in, reading a letter, MY LETTER.

" DUUUDDE..." Mason looked at me in bewilderment. I forced my eyelids open and looked at him.

He jumped onto my bed and shook me awake.

" Bruh..... What are you doing asleep?"
I looked at him with one eye open.

" What do you want me do to?"

" How sure are you that your dad is not just about to walk through that door any second now?"

5 MISSED CALLS..

Mason looked at my phone in awe once it had enough charge to turn on and was a little bit petrified on my behalf. I had five missed calls from dad and my dumbass was asleep.

Well, Mason had only gotten to know me when he transferred to my school in Senior year and ever since then we were literally inseparable, so Mason got to know my family quite well too and I know for sure that my dad was a person that Mason feared probably more than his own dad. My dad had never actually beaten Mason but he had been forced to remain in the room and bare witness to him beating my ass twice so far and at our age, its enough to emotionally scare someone.

**** ringing****

Mason threw the phone in my face when it rang.
It was my dad. I froze wondering if I should actually answer it, but knowing my dad, it was best to not provoke him into coming over and beating my ass in the dorm room, in front of everyone, which was probably my worst fear.

" Hello..... Dad.." The silence on the other side of the phone had my stomach in knots. I could hear him breathing slowly on the other side which was a notion that he was pissed.

" Why did not you answer my calls earlier?"

" Dad, I swear my phone was dead, I forgot to charge last night. Those missed calls were unintentional. That's the truth."

He kept silent for a while which kinda worried me cause now I feared that he was like already behind the door or something. I could literally feel my heart beating out of my chest.

" Friday.. I want you to make the trip home. Am I clear?"

" But dad I can't make it Friday cause.."

" Would you rather I come to you?"

The question even actually cut off my thought process of all the excuses I could have made. My dad.. Coming to my dorm room.. He would make a show of beating me infront of everyone and that is a fact.
