CAMERON'S POV
I first woke up at six in the morning, I guess it was just because I was hungry, hadn't really eaten much last night. I was laying on my stomach, half the blanket on the floor. Everything hurt. I tried to get up but between my broken arm and my backside, I just didn't have the strength. So instead, I let the sleep take over.
My eyes flickered open, I could hear someone shouting my name in the background.
" Cameron!!! "
" Yeah, what's up?" I could barely lift my head from the pillow. My eyes seemed to be sewed shut.
" Mum's calling you. She said you should hurry down."
Max was dressing up and it puzzled me. Who goes out in the morning?
I stayed in bed awhile, contemplating, half falling back to sleep.
The knock on the door forced my eyes open, turned my face towards the door and Shaun's head pecked through the slightly open slit. Seeing that I was still comfortably covered in bed, he could do nothing but laugh.
" You're tempting fate." When he said it, it seemed funny so we laughed it off. Then his smile dropped.
" Mum's climbing the stairs."
In trying to get up out of bed, I put too much pressure on my broken arm and I landed on the floor, hit my head on my bedside cabinet.
" Fuck .." Just spilled out before I could even give it a second thought. Max and Shaun helped me up to stand only to find my aunt standing at the door. In that moment, my soul left my body as I stood cluelessly looking at her.
She looked blankly at me, her mouth slightly ajar then she narrowed her eyes at me.
" How long ago did I ask for you downstairs?"
I blinked nervously swallowing hard.
" I... I.... I..... I'm sorry." I honestly lacked an explanation, my throat was drying up and my mind went blank.
As if ignoring me completely, she turned her attention to Max and then Shaun.
" Aren't both of you going to be late?"
Before I knew it, I was all alone standing in front of the nightmare of my life. I started preparing myself for another beating.
NO ONE'S POV
Cameron looked like he had just seen a ghost, his face went white. His aunt couldn't help but smile, amused.
" Don't do that with your face." She shook her head slightly from side to side.
" Since you were expelled from your previous schools, I'm not going to waste time with you." Gwen paused to see his reaction. Cameron's face dropped, hurt because he felt like they had given up on him. Tears started to well up in his eyes and by mistake, he let one fall to the ground. Gwen's eyes widened, shocked but pleased by his reaction. At least he still cared.
Cameron wiped his eyes dry and looked up at his aunt, his bottom lip quivering with anger. Gwen looked at him, moved.
" Shower and get dressed, your breakfast is ready and your tutor will be here by 8:30, don't be late."***********************************************
Max's work is missing. No matter where it is, its missing. Today just had to be the day of all days this week. With all the commotion going on at home, Max just really wanted to stay on his parents good side. Especially his dad, not after the trouble he got in last week for being behind in homework. But what does it even matter now, if he was all ready going to get in trouble, might as well go all out. Right?
" Hey yoo, Calvin?"
Calvin looked back at his best friend, the mischievous smile on his face alerting him that nothing good was going to come from this.
Fuck.
" Wanna ditch class?" Max grinned, Calvin objected.
" Why? Didn't you get into enough trouble last week? Plus you're mum warned me not to get in trouble with you again?" Even she knows you're a bad influence, he thought.
" Come on man, Don't be like that."
" Dude its just second period. We're going to get caught."
" Don't jinx it."
***** Right before fourth period*****
" Dude.... Let's go" Max urged.
" Now.... Dude I thought you gave up on that.."
Max raised his brows at him like so??!
" Fine.... " Calvin sighed. He was staying over at Max's place for the night so heck not get into trouble before hand, right!Introduction...
