Episode 58: Negotiations
"I said you can't enter! Mr. Malik is in a very important meeting!"
"Fuck his meeting."
Chase was a ticking bomb by the time he wound up at Golden Entertainment.
His chauffeur, Jeffrey, was the sole person to accompany him. He didn't feel like he needed any extra strength to deal with the low life he was about to face. Jeff now had his overpowering figure blocking the door to the company owner's office, not allowing his secretary to stall them.
She looked at him with a tremor of fear filling her.
Her eyes moved back and forth between the man and where Chase was headed before she let out a frustrated scream. Her hand tugged at her hair as she bit down onto her fingers, genuinely scared of the outcome of things.
The woman hadn't been lying. The room was indeed filled with men in suits and the stench of egos mixed with leftover coffee filled the air. Everybody's head turned in the direction of the intruder. Chase's eyes zoomed in on his target. There was a smile painted on the older man's face and he was glad to be the one who would personally remove it. Walking to him was the most thrilling moment the blond man had had in a while. His strides were determined and purposeful, but if you looked close enough you could see a trail of red raged imprints on the floor.
"Is he an acquaintance of yours, Mr. Malik?"
The question was the only one asked as Chase got closer to him and before their host had the chance of responding, he was being dragged up out of his seat by his collars.
The haughty smirk of his was enough to have Chase tighten his hold, ignoring the gasps filling the room. He held the bastard closer to him, every angry puff of air hitting his face like a prelude to what was to come. "Mr. Williams, I'd say it's a pleasure to see you but your actions aren't really allowing me to do so. May I ask if I've done something to offend you?"
His jaw tightened at the scoundrel's words.
"You tell me. Have you done something worth offending me?"
Mr. Malik caught the heat in his gaze. It was capable of setting him and his entire company on fire.
His guests in this board meeting seemed to catch on quickly and began to exit the room with rushed apologies. If they hadn't they wouldn't have been true businessmen, would they?
Some muttered about his professionalism while others spat out rushed excuses for their impromptu leave.
In any case, no one helped him from the paws of Chase and in a matter of seconds they were left alone.
Mr. Malik glanced back at Williams Co.'s owner and this time he visibly gulped.
His hands were shaking and it was taking everything within him not to beat this man to a pulp. At least not before he got down to business. Not before he had him understanding where he stood in this social hierarchy. Especially if he was going to use it as a tool to hurt Valentina of all people.
Not letting go of his collars, Chase's eyes flickered from his gaze to his body, sizing him up then giving a repulsive reaction to what he saw. "You aren't much of a man, Malik. Not much to look at either. Honestly, you'd be considered the kind they say they let themselves too loose. I guess that's why you find the need to overpower women half your size, mhm?"
His eyes widened, shocked.
Mr. Malik wasn't a fool not to put two and two together.
Despite being left in the dark about his and Valentina's relationship it was no longer a puzzle to see what this was about. The fact that he offended many women in this industry was not a secret, but none had the immediate reaction as the one he did yesterday. It had to be her. It couldn't be anyone else.
