Chapter 16

Camila's POV

Everything went blur till I blinked my eyes for tons of times and went back to reality. I'm still here sitting straight on the couch ans saw that the boook wasn't in my hand anymore. I looked for it around the glass table and under the couch but it was nowhere to be found.

"Shit" I mumbled to myself and ran my fingers throught my hair. I ducked. Looking at the corners of the room. I'm so dead if anybody finds out or worse this might get them into a big trouble too.

"Yow Mila! wanna--" someone said in a loud voice causing my neves to erupt.

"Shit Dinah!" I jumped in shock and stood up. I hel my hand to my chest like I was catching a breath. "You scared the crap out of me" I said as she stood there frozen.

"I'm sorry. I just wanna ask if you want to come with me and the others to the field"

"field?"

"We're gonna play baseball" she said.

"Oh. Okay. I'll be right there" I said then she nodded and left. Where could that book be? I guess I have to find it later.

The others went inside their cars and so did I. Me and Dinah rode the same car together cause they let Dinah borrow one of their cars. We rode a black Ford Fusion 2014. The other started drifting off then Dinah follwed.

The car ride was quiet. None of us spoke a word. I sat on my seat beside Dinah with my left hand wrapped around my body with my fingers playfully rolling some strands of my hair to it. And my attention glued outside the passing sceneries.

"Mila are you okay?" Dinah said breaking the silence. I looked at her and saw that her eyes are focused on the road but her thoughts aren't. I wanna tell her, I really do. Dinah has been with me for who knows how long and I feel that I can trust her but there are really just tough times that she is way out of control and she may accidentally say everything of I told her.

I'm trying to think what to resppnd to her question but there are no other options left but to lie to her "Yeah, I'm good" I said.

"You sure?" she asked like she find my answer unbelievable. "..cause you've really distant lately. Did I do something wrong?"

"No. Dinah its not you okay? I didn't sign up to be distant with anyone esp. you Dinah. Its just. There's a lot of things running through my head and I needed sometime to be alone to think it all over" I stated.

"Hmm. care to share?" she asked. "Maybe I can help"

"Its okay. I can handle it." I said trying to ed the conversation cause I have a feeling where this talk is heading.

"Okay' was tha last thing she said. When we got to the field. She killed the engine and immediately got out of the car then closed the door with a strong force causing it to thud loudly. I think Dinah's pissed.

"Nice one Camila" I whispered to myself emphasizing the sarcasm on it.

I stepped out of the car and saw everyone started to gather around. I walked with Alice who's been waiting for me. She sneakly put her left arm around me, pulling me close to her.

"So how's it going?" she whispered. "It's good. But I feel like I lost the first book in the Strigoi section." I said nervously, thinking what might be her reaction. She let go of me and a smile started to creep out of her face and she let out a small giggle andwinked at me "Don't worry. I put it back on the shelf cause I saw that you were having a vision going on that's why I took it" she said in a low voice.

I sighed in relief and finally able to break the suffocating atmosphere caused by my nervousness. Alice left joining the others to plan for the game and I stood here putting my hands on my jacket's pocket watching them with interest. Everyone started to scatter, Dinah shiftd to her werewolf form making her mark and the others did the same. At the corner of my eyes I saw Edward talking to a girl that idk. 

I don't feel any jealousy like duh I'm not even sure about what I am but as far as I'm concern girls hold my interest more than guys. to get to the point I'm just curious. The wind blows fairly, then a scent of a rare blood pleasured my nose. I inhaled loudly savoring the  scent and it directed me to the new girl. She's a human. But how is it possible? No human being has to know anything about us.

Edward left the girl for a while and joined the game. When the girl was alone I tried ti approach her to get to know her but I wascut off by Emmett calling me.

"Hey Mila! Want to join? We need one more player." he said.

"I-uh, idk how to play"

"Come on. We'll teach you" Esme said cupping my shoulder leading me into the main court.

"You're most likely the strongest one in the group. You might hit the ball farther than anyone here" Jasper said.

"Can't you see? I'm too skinny to play this kind of sport" I said.

"Being skinny, muscular, thin or fat doesn't measure. Strength is" Alice said.

"Okay. Okay. Would ya'll stop talking and just start to put some fire on this game?" Rosalie said swinging her bat. "Oh its on" Emmett blurtted out clutching his hand. Then everyone laughed including me at his challenging action. "Oh please. You know I'm an expert on this game." he set his pride wall up again then Alice threw the ball and was hit by Jasper.
