The Return

"So Songs coming back." Chen Yu's jaw clenches and his stomach churns. "Instead of asking why you killed the waitress, let me ask what Wen had on you?" He leans across the the table with his hands folded, looking Yue Qi directly in the eyes.

"Well... my sister, he promised to help her." He swallows a lump in his throat before continuing. "My younger sister was raped. The man was convicted and sentenced to a few years in jail. Just as his sentence started, my sister discovered she is pregnant. She was terrified at first, afraid the baby would be like it's father and afraid he'd take it." Tears fill his eyes. "The day she felt the first movement, she decided that it's her child, not his. That evening we got word he had hanged him self. Ironically, he couldn't handle having been raped in jail." A cold grin spreads across his lips. "The bastards parents filed a lawsuit, demanding partial custody of my sisters unborn child! Can you believe that?" He shakes his head, a sad and wicked smile on his face as tears fall. "Wen Peng gave me a vial, he said it would be quick and painless for that woman. He lied, as usual. Nothing happened at all, but she knew what I was there to do. I... I told her I was sorry as my own hands..." His voice croaks out as he raises his shaking hands to look at them, as if he doesn't recognize them. "I have remorse, I regret it. But, my sister and my nephew will be free from those people and they'll be safe. If only I hadn't been so panicked and confused. Maybe I could have protected my family and that woman."

   Chen Yu rises from his seat calmly and heads for the door without a word. Wu Zhen Feng closes his eyes tightly for a moment, then finishes the questioning. He knows exactly where his didi is headed and he doesn't blame him one bit.

   Chen Yu is sitting in his truck outside the hospital, desperately trying to calm his racing heart. He pulls out his phone and sends Gu Wei a text.

-Lao gong, I need to see you. Do you have time? I'm outside.

   He closes his eyes and rests his head on the seat back. Several minutes pass and there's no response from Gu Wei. He sighs, thinking of course he's busy. Suddenly he jumps, as there's a tapping on his window. He opens his eyes to see a worried, but softly smiling Gu Wei. He moves his seat back before opening the door and dragging a shocked Gu Wei up onto his lap. He instinctively straddles Chen Yu and kisses his forehead, stroking his cheek and neck in his hands. Chen Yu slams the door closed and breathes in Gu Wei's scent.

"What is it lao gong?" Gu Wei asks, placing a kiss on Chen Yu's nose. He see's fear in those beautiful brown doe eyes. "You're scaring me, what's wrong?"

"I'm sorry." Chen Yu's arms tighten around him and he buries his face in the crook of Gu Wei's neck, just breathing him in. "There's a rumor..." He pulls back to look into Gu Wei's worried eyes. "Song's coming back, soon."

"Good." Gu Wei states after a moment, his voice barely shaking. "Good. The sooner the bastard returns, the sooner you end this." He kisses Chen Yu's lips tenderly. "The sooner you become mine, forever." He smiles and watches those simple words melt some of the tension from Chen Yu.

"I'll do my best to end it quickly baobei and keep you safe. You're wearing the knives I gave you?" He feels the hidden bands around Gu Wei's forearms and breaths a sigh of relief. Chen Yu gazes up at Gu Wei with the look of a wounded puppy and Gu Wei melts.

"Of course. I know you'll keep me safe Yu'er, but promise me... you'll stay safe too. Watch your back, after all, you promised me a lifetime." He pulls Chen Yu's bottom lip into his mouth and sucks softly.

   Chen Yu's arms tighten around him once again and the sweet, tender kiss becomes hungry and full of need. A need to claim, a need to find comfort, and a need to soothe. Chen Yu groans, feeling both his own erection and Gu Wei's come to life between them.
