"Hey, Lyra, could you teach the younglings today about the war? You know I'm not very good with kids" Anakin caught me in the hallways of the temple with urgency in his tone.
"But I haven't had time to prepare anything. What do I tell them?" I started to panic at the idea of being unprepared. Anakin placed his hands on my shoulders calmly to get me to focus.
"All you have to do is tell them about what you do to serve the republic during the war and Cody and Rex are going to come in and speak with them too. Have fun" he patted my shoulder and walked off quickly, not giving me a chance to turn down the offer.
"Looks like I have some younglings to teach" I sighed, walking off towards the classroom I had been trained in when I was their age.
"Good morning, General Jayko" the children all looked up to me as I entered the room, a smile on my face at the younglings enthusiasm.
"Good morning, who here is ready to learn about the clone war?" I stood in front of them all with excitement. They all raised their hands and I directed them to sit down on the floor with me. "What do you know about the war already?"
"The Jedi are the hero's who are fighting the bad droids!" One kid cheered out proudly.
"I'm afraid you're wrong. The Jedi are trying to keep the peace as best we can while also trying to stop the separatist droids from invading our planets"
"I think you left out the parts where the clones beat the droids almost every time" Cody spoke up from behind me with confidence.
"Younglings this is Commander Cody and Captain Rex" I stood to introduce the two clones happily, hoping they could help out a bit since I was unprepared to teach.
"Are they really clones?"
"Wanna show them?" I asked the brothers and they each pulled off their helmets to reveal their matching faces.
"Woah!"
"Do you have any questions for the Commander or Captain?" I stepped off to the side to give the attention to the clones.
"Why is your hair blond?" One young boy pointed to Rex.
"He dyes it" Cody cut in with a snicker.
"The DNA of our donor doesn't always stick when it comes to the colour of our hair which is why you may see clones with red hair or blond hair like me" Rex explained thoroughly in detail.
"What Jedi do you work for?" Another kid piped up with their question next.
"I work under General Skywalker and Commander Tano" Rex said. "Though sometimes we team up with others like General Kenobi and Jayko."
"I work under General Kenobi and Jayko" Cody explained simply.
"What's the clone bar?" Someone spoke up and my eyes went wide in shock.
"Well, kids" Cody started as he noticed the look on your face.
"I think that's enough questions for today, don't you?" I cut in before he could tell them the nitty gritty details of what happens at 79's.
"Come on, Jayko, the kid asked" Cody pointed out.
"Don't you two have somewhere to be?" I spun around to face the clones.
"We are supposed to be helping teach the younglings about the war" The trooper with orange painted armour reminded.
"I think I can handle it actually" I started to rush them out.
"Are you sure you don't want Rex old boy here to stay with you?" He continued to tease.
"Go" I sternly pushed him out of the room, Rex following his brother.
