In photographs and interviews, Aaliyah was often seen wearing dark shades or covering her left eye with her bangs, a look inspired by film star Veronica Lake. Fans began to speculate that she was deliberately hiding her left eye because she had, either, a glass or lazy eye. However, these rumours were false. Both of Aaliyah's eyes were healthy.
