"Hold on I gotta take that" Shuri rolled her eyes "it's my brother"..."wait oh no.. I totally forgot he was on his way home" her eyes widened at Loki.
*on call*
"Heyy how's my favorite brother"
"I'm your only brother"
"That's what you think"
"Very funny, Shuri where are you? I just got back and I need your help with something, it won't be boring don't worry"
"Yeahhh I'm in my lab"
"Great I'm walking there already"
*Wait I shouldn't have said* that she mentally facepalmed
"Uhh.." she muted the phone call and came up with a quick plan. "Loki go through the back door over there and then turn right you should see another door across the room go there, it shouldn't have anyone in it. I'll distract my bro like the pro I am"
"What..." Loki doubtful glanced at the back door hesitant, though made up his mind that it was a better option then getting caught
"Shuri are you still there?"
"Yeah sorry! Let me meet you out front"
"I'm literally right here"
Shuri almost tripped and she slid to the front door, she could hear his voice from the other side
The door slid open very dramatically
"Hey man what is up?" She looked nervously over her shoulder, phew there was nobody...
until there was a crash somewhere in the other room. She winced
"Shuri what was that?" Her brother asked crossing his arms looking her in the eye
"What was what" she smiled as she pushed the door shut
"That crash" he tried to push open the door behind her but she blocked him
Out of the corner of her eye she saw movement 'what the hell is he doing?' As if to answer that she saw a guilty Loki tip toeing 20 feet away across the the room holding a spear with a trail of dirt behind him
"Shuri let me in, I need to show you something"
"Oh yeah totally" just as she said that there was another crash except this time it was in the same room
She face palmed literally this time at what looked like loki mouthing 'give me one moment please' he started to pick up the spear
"OK WHAT WAS THAT?" T'challa was getting pretty suspicious now.
He turned around just as the spear clattered to the ground once more
Yanking on his arm Shuri yelled "WHAT ARE THOSE!"
T'challa turning back around before he could notice anything went "what in the world"
"Yoo brother you can't just roam around the palace in crocs n socks, that ain't right"
"Shuri I'll have you know this is the highest state of fashion in America"
"Yeah yeah sure, I'm sure Stark told you that"
Right then Okoye walked in "what in Wakanda, why is the spear on the ground? OH JEESUZ THERES A SNAKE" she dropped the spear and it clattered to the ground for the second time in the past minute. She finally recollected herself and calmly picked up the spear, the snake looked thoughtfully at her.
"THERES A SNEK?" Shuri looked very excited, she always loved finding snakes and spiders and those sorts of things. They made her brother uncomfortable and when you know how to make someone suffer oh boy is that fun. The Snek winked at her.
"There's a snek..?" She repeated a little unsure this time. Then it dawned on her.
"OH. Yeah sorry about that. You know that noise earlier? Yeah that was this guy" 'that wasn't a complete lie she thought. She looked at the dirt. "Yeahh he still needs training, probably knocked over a plant"
"Training? What is he a dog?" Okoye started chuckling.
"That's right" Shuri said stubbornly. I'm training him to sneak up on people, she looked he brother straight in the eyes. He put his hands up in defense.
"I gotta see this" T'challa said this unbelieving.
Shuri turned towards Loki and mumbled "work with me here.. Ok, uh, come here..'sheesh she didn't think of a name', uh.. come here Tom." She swore she could see him role his eyes, if snakes could even do that. He did slither towards her though so not all hope was lost.
Okoye raised an eyebrow somewhat impressed but then said "who names a snake such a basic white kid name"
"The name just seemed to fit" Shuri shrugged.
"Alright I'm out of here before this day gets any crazier" T'challa rubbed his eyes. "Shuri once you're done with the snake please meet me back in the lab". "Yes sir"she saluted at him. He sighed and walked away.
"Ha" Okoye went. When he was out of sight she spoke "when you do prank him next time do let me know I've been dying to see what our king is actually afraid of" and walked off.
"You are such a good actor" a voice said sarcastically. "You're right" Shuri turned around to face Loki "I'm a great actor" she bowed dramatically. "That-that's not what I meant" he got cut off "you never told me you could turn into a snek, I am actually impressed" "yes I am the best snek" he waved his hand in the air making sunglasses appear for himself. "Now if you don't mind I think I'd like to get out of here" "where are you planning to go?" Shuri asked quizzically. "I'm not sure yet, but this place has way to much security for my taste" "Yeah that's true" Shuri frowned. "You know Peter should have been back by now, I think we should go look for him" Shuri frowned more. "Fine by me, but isn't T'challa waiting for you?" "Eh, he'll figure it out" Loki shrugged ok then.
"Yoo I gotta show you how well I can fly this Talon Fighter, obviously not the royal one but man I think I'm good" Shuri started getting hyped. "By the will of Tyr we're going to die" Loki said quietly, but he followed her anyway because honestly he was really enjoying the company.
