"So what tea do you want?" He takes out this little wooden box filled with different tea. "Do you have strawberry tea?" I ask, looking down at the box. "Yes m'lady, do you prefer sugar or milk or both? '' he says, turning the kettle on "Just sugar" I say jumping on the counter. The kitchen is small, filled with pots, pans, cups, silver wear in different containers, plates, trays and a lot of knives. The whole color scheme is silver and the little light from the stove is illuminating in the stainless steel rags. Alex is leaned against the counter on the other side, with his arms crossed "Thank you Gen" he says, looking into the ground, I smile "For what Alex" "Resurrecting me i guess, i haven't lived for a while" I nod "Well don't eat my brain Alex i dont have the cure yet" We both laugh, but the keddle cuts us of. He grabs to cups before pouring the water in, he carefully puts the teabag in and on teaspoon sugar "More" he ask "A tiny bit more" "You have a sweet tooth dont you" I smile before answering "A little" "I will keep that in mind" He swirls around in it before he hands me the warm cup, that slowly defrost my cold fingers. "So tell me about Oliver" I say, blowing air into my tea and letting the fumes warm my face. "Well what can i say, he is a great guy and he has always been there, through sickness and health" "Geez you guys sound like a married couple" Alexander laughs before slurping his tea "We don't fight like one that's for sure, you have to meet him" "I already have" "No like for real, a proper meeting where we hang" "Sure" I say slurping my tea, it's just how i like it. "Okay how much do you hang with Oliver" He takes a big sip of his tea before answering "I hang quite a lot, but he is more focused on school than i am so it makes it difficult sometimes" "I can't imagine anyone being less invested in school than you" "Ouch Gen" his hand lands on his heart, but we both laugh "I Can't remember having a friend like that, i've always felt used somehow" I say looking down on my tea "I can imagine, but now you have one" silence takes over for minute letting me process. Friend? Have i been friendzoned or is it the first step towards possible dating? Do i even want to date him? "Yeah im glad your my friend" i answer taking a big sip, the warm liquid, slides down my throat and the sweetness goes straight into my teeth "Can you even taste Alex" "I can taste little things, but very bland food i can't really taste" He looks down into his cup, before taking a big sip. "Isn't is depressing not to taste anything" "I can taste something remember that, i can taste oranges and salt" my eyes widen "Is that it" "Pretty much" he says almost unbothered. I take the last sip of my tea before sitting it down on the counter. "Should we go to sleep?" I say yawning, stretching my hands over my head. "Sure" He leaves his cup behind as we walk out of the kitchen, almost forgetting to turn the stove off. "Thank you Alex" I say leaning up against his arm, closing my eyes, letting him guide me through the hallways. "For what" He says turning right "For being you, for letting this school seem bearable" I yawn once more "No problem my pleasure" He says stopping. I open my eyes "Do you have your key?" He says into my hair, i shake my head "What should you do without me" He says pulling his keys out, letting me in. He walks me to my bed, gently letting me fall onto my bed. He pulls my shoes off, whilst im lying down half asleep, the next thing i know is the duvet covering me "Goodnight" He whispers as he's about to leave, i'm drunk on the fun we have had so my drowsy mind blurt out "Don't leave" my eyes are closed and my mind is pretty much blank, but i can hear him closing the door and pulling out the chair, finally i can rest.
